And a few things changed while I was away.

First, LinkedIn feels louder than before.
More opinions. More noise. Less depth.

Second, everyone seems to be in a rush to sell something.

Faster pitches. 
Shorter attention. 
Quicker judgments.

And third, genuine conversations feel rarer.
But when they happen, they matter more than ever.

But more than all of that, something else happened.

When I opened LinkedIn after those two months, I saw hundreds of unread messages.

Messages saying:

“Ifti, are you okay?”
“Where did you disappear?”
“Hope everything is fine on your end.”
“LinkedIn doesn’t feel the same without your insights.”

I didn’t expect that.

And that’s when it hit me.

Over the last year, without being loud or trying to impress, I had built something real.

Not just content.
Not just visibility.

A small, loyal community of people who cared beyond the post.

And that means a lot to me.

So yes, I’m back.
But things will be different this time.

This profile won’t be about surface-level updates or chasing attention.

If someone lands on your profile after reading your post and still has to guess:

-> And why it matters

they won’t DM you.
They’ll just scroll.

That’s why posting consistently can still feel frustrating.

You’re visible, but not memorable. 
Active, but not obvious.

Real traction on LinkedIn starts when your message does one thing well:

it makes the right person feel seen.

When that happens, content stops being content.
It becomes a filter.

And the DMs that come in aren’t random, they’re relevant.

There’s a big difference.

A few months ago, someone half my age booked a call with me.

Because if I’m honest, I didn’t start LinkedIn with that kind of clarity.

I started messy.

Posting when I felt confident.
Disappearing when I didn’t.
Second-guessing every word.

There were weeks where nothing happened.
No replies.
No DMs.
No validation.

Only silence.

And that silence teaches you things no course ever will.

Start earlier if you can.
But if you’re starting now, start properly.

And don’t stop when it gets quiet.
That’s usually when it’s working.

Yet their inbox is quiet.
