    restaurants a revenue lifeline during Covid
•  Built a team of 50+ volunteers, including some of the world's biggest names in hospitality
•  Co-wrote legislation that received overwhelming bi-partisan support 

Cocktails For Hope is an initiative that advocates for the temporary sale of pre-mixed cocktails in containers sealed by on-premise license holding establishments in the State of Illinois. Cocktails For Hope is committed to creating necessary cash flow to bars and restaurants throughout the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic to allow them to remain in business. The initiative also seeks to create an open line of communication with lawmakers for continued conversations as the hospitality landscape evolves over time. We are heading into what I’m calling the ‘independence era’ of work. If you have been following me for the last five years you have seen my posts, op-Ed’s and talks on this topic.

(Note: Elon’s comment about “optional work” in 5 years was discussed at the beginning of the segment. I don’t agree with it. This question and answer is separate from his ideas).

Where the stable job path and career ladders are fading, and work becomes more about offering your skills to different projects. Which means even if you don’t think of yourself as an entrepreneur in the traditional sense, you will soon have to think like one.

It’s not easy to think about work this way. And it has a lot of implications for economic and social security, including health insurance in several countries. Frankly, we do not hear nearly enough from policymakers about the impact of AI on the fabric of the workforce. But as this fabric evolves, it’s also an opportunity to put forward new ideas.
