First, they define quota attainment backward—from the customer's buying cycle, not from sales timeline pressure. When you know exactly when deals close, you reverse-engineer exactly when discovery needs to happen. Second, they measure weekly pipeline health, not monthly. The teams that see problems on Tuesday fix them by Friday. The teams that wait for monthly reviews are already underwater. Third, they separate 'activity quota' from 'outcome quota.' Reps chase activity targets and call it success. Winners build pipelines and hit numbers as a byproduct.
