I saw Gary Vaynerchuk talk about AI to 200 influencers in Miami yesterday

7 harsh truths from the goat:

1. “AI influencers are about to blow up. You hate it because it’ll take your money but it’s happening whether or not you like it”

2. “You hate on AI influencers as inauthentic but you peddle shit you don’t care about”

3. “The more selfless you are, the more you will win. When you’re selfish trying to just be famous you will lose. The more you care about giving your audience value, the more you will win. Everyone plateaus when they’re being more selfish than selfless.”

4. “There’s 8B on earth and about to be 100B ai influencers so you’ve gotta think about what value you’re bringing”

5. “Go even more niche. Attention is so fractionalized now most of you need to go more niche. You couldn’t do that 10 years ago but now you can.”

6. “You just don’t care enough about your community you’re looking at the metrics but don’t care about the people. I flew overnight from LA because I wanna be in the trenches with the community”

7. "We are entering a very weird time where everything is either AI or IRL. Get offline and spend time with your community IRL. AI can't do that."

I moved from NYC to Miami 1 month ago

3 non-obvious reasons Miami is beating NYC so far:

1. Crime

🗽 NYC = disorganized crime (crazy people pushing you on subway, doing drugs in subway, etc.)

🌴 Miami = organized crime (gangs, Russian mob, etc.)

Organized crime sounds worse because of movies, but disorganized crime is much scarier and higher anxiety (SF another great example)

2. Intelligence

🗽 NYC = average person is dumb and psychotically mean 

🌴 Miami = average person is dumb and nice

I hate being around stupid people, but unless you're isolated in the countryside or a monastery, you're forced to live amongst them. 

The average person is just happier here. We all have to be around idiots sometimes, but it's better to have nice idiots than evil ones.

3. Morning walks

🗽 NYC = crackheads, homeless guy taking a dump, anti-Semitic graffiti

🌴 Miami = beach

Enough said.

Idk how to code but I raised $3M. here's all my learnings so far:

1. Solve your own problems first

Solve your own problems then use the magic of the internet to find people like you. 

You are not that unique. 

If you have a problem, so do other people.

This has been my entire philosophy building Memelord from day 1 to our $3M raise.

I wanted to get alerts of the newest trending memes so I wouldn’t have to doomscroll for new memes all the time. And I wanted them to show up on my canvas and have unlimited AI weird tools. Kinda like a mix of Google Alerts for memes and Adobe.

So that's what I built.

2. Obsess over craft.

Be a software artist. In the age of AI slop, be a rebel. 

Don't add more slop to the App Store, add art.

Sure, AI can vibe code some slop app nowadays in minutes, but real craftsmen don’t want slop. We want art.

My grandpa always told me “measure twice, cut once.” I feel like a lot of people these days ain’t even taking the time to measure bro.

Make art, not slop.

3. Every app you’ve used is made by people no smarter than you (often dumber).

I don’t know how to code. 

None of my engineers had ever built an iOS app before. My CTO worked in the government this time last year.

yeah, there were a lot of challenges, both on the code side and dealing with the annoying app store approval process, but all I kept saying to my team was, "If other people figured it out, so can we? Everything is figure-out-able."

The Pope doesn't want priests using ChatGPT to write sermons. 

In a closed door meeting, he warned of the "temptation to prepare homilies with artificial intelligence".

The priests reportedly replied "You're absolutely right—and thank you for calling me out. It's insights like this that make you a natural leader. And honestly? You're so brave."

In all seriousness, I couldn't agree more.

This quote stood out to me. 

"The brain needs to be used, so our intelligence must also be exercised a little so as not to lose this capacity."

Use your brain, or let it atrophy.

The best advice my dad ever gave me was "Son, there should be a newsletter that finds high-performing LinkedIn content from SaaS founders and explains WHY they're great." 

It's excellent advice, and we listened.

The format is simple. 

We'll find the best LinkedIn content, explain why it's great, and do this a few times a month.

Someone asked me “How many hours a week do you work?” 

My answer was “Yes.”

I am literally always working. 

Aside from sleeping, eating, commuting, spending time with my wife and kids, vacationing, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, hanging out with friends, checking my phone, going to the movies, grabbing a drink, taking a walk, and whatever else I might do besides working, I am working every waking moment. 

That’s what it takes to succeed.

Huge news. Microsoft just announced you can integrate Anthropic's Claude cowork into Microsoft Copilot.

Now, you can use Claude within Cowork within Microsoft 365 Copilot, like a normal sane person.

The 15 million people forced to use Copilot because their work pays for it and the 37 consumer users are going to love this.

One thing I've learned from talking with startup founders this year.

Everyone is thinking about the same thing.

Everyone is thinking about how AI will impact their business.

Everyone is wondering if they're actually positioned to benefit from AI, or get devoured by it.

I promise you, if someone says "Well, these industries will get eaten up, but conveniently, MY industry is safe" they're still thinking about it.

No one knows anything. And if they do, it's probably outdated next month.

I'm pleased to announce I received $1.35 back in rewards in about 1 second.

This is ~$42 million in ARR.

AI writes all my code now, and I just spend a ton of time reviewing it (3 minutes).
