I’m Daniel Berk: beehiiv’s first sales hire-turned-strategist, cofounder of Palmetto Parents, and cohost of the Two Dads in Tech podcast.

I started my first beehiiv account on December 20, 2021, only 4 days after I met Tyler Denk, just 33 days after beehiiv launched. 

I was later hired as employee number 7, and have since owned $20M in pipeline, closed $3.5M across over 550 different deals, and have talked with thousands of creators, journalists, and media operators about building successful content-first media products.

When not working on beehiiv during the day, I worked on beehiiv at night creating two successful media companies of my own (a newsletter-first local media company, and a podcast-first tech newsletter). Beyond that I built sustainable passive revenue as a content creator, and advised startups and media companies on growth, sales, and social.

Somewhere in there I also created two lovely humans (my wife did all the hard work but I helped kinda).

When I'm not building, I'm regularly engaged in my community, I meet with people 3-5 nights per week, regularly host community events, and soon I get to start coaching my son's Tee-ball league.

And today I spent time on Creator Spotlight with the legend himself, Francis Zierer, to answer the question he's had all along:

"Why are you like this?"
