This girl slid into my DMs on Valentine's Day.
 
I never saw it (yikes). 
 
She followed up 8 days later.
 
And that my friend, is the most Sarah Graves thing I could tell you.
 
Sarah is a senior guard at Texas. Finance major. Walk-on who earned a scholarship.
 
She's not in the starting five. She actually spends most of her time on the bench. 

Last night she got a career high of 4 points. 

Annnnnd....with all that...she might be the most beloved player on a roster that just dropped 100 points in the NCAA Tournament.
 
Here's why...
 
In practice, when someone's exhausted and their head is down, Sarah finds them. Locks eyes. Transfers energy. That's her job and she owns it like a starter.
 
On the bench during games, fans watch her more than the ball.

Your personal brand is your retirement plan.
 
Not something you build after you arrive.

Top 1% creator on LinkedIn.

Created a 7-figure business in 7 months.

Goldman Sachs alum.

Northwestern Grad. 

None of that is what makes me top 1%.

Here's what actually does:
I'm still here.

That's it.

I started posting on LinkedIn consistently in February 2024.

Most people who started posting in February 2024 are gone.

They posted for 30 days. Got discouraged. Stopped.

They posted for 90 days. Didn't see ROI. Stopped.

They had one post go viral. Then the next 10 flopped. Stopped.

I'm not smarter than them.

I'm not more talented.

I don't have better frameworks or more insider secrets.

I just didn't stop.

Here's what people get wrong about the top 1%:
They think it's about credentials. They think it's about intelligence. They think it's about some secret strategy.

It's not.

The top 1% are just the people who are still in the game when everyone else quit.

That's the whole secret.

The hard part isn't getting good.

The hard part is staying in long enough to get good.

Most people quit at: 
→ Post 10 (when they realize it's work) 
→ Post 50 (when the dopamine wears off) 
→ Post 200 (when they have one bad week)

The people who make it to Post 500?

They're automatically top 1%.

Not because Post 500 is genius.

But because 99% of people never make it to Post 500.

I see this with the founders and execs I work with:
The ones who win aren't the ones with the best first post.

They're the ones who are still posting in Month 6 when it's not fun anymore.

Goldman didn't teach me that.

Northwestern didn't teach me that.

Building a 7-figure business didn't teach me that.

Life taught me that.

My mom lived pay check to pay check. She stayed in the game.

I had a speech delay growing up. I stayed in the game.

I've had posts flop. 
Campaigns fail. 
Clients ghost. 

I stayed in the game.

That's the difference.

So if you're reading this and you feel like: 
→ "Everyone else is growing faster than me" 
→ "My content isn't good enough" 
→ "I don't have anything unique to say"

Good.

That means you're still in the game.

The moment you think you've figured it all out is the moment you stop learning.

The moment you stop showing up is the moment you lose.

The top 1% aren't the ones who never struggle.

They're the ones who struggle and keep posting anyway.

I posted 7 days a week for 10 months straight.

Some weeks I got 100K impressions. Some weeks I got 3K.

Didn't matter.

I kept showing up.

And now? I'm top 1% on LinkedIn. Not because I'm special.

But because I'm still here.

So here's my challenge to you:
Don't try to be in the top 1% by being smarter.
Don't try to be in the top 1% by having better credentials.
Don't try to be in the top 1% by cracking some algorithm.

Just be in the top 1% by still being here in 6 months when everyone else quit.

That's the move.

No!! Your content just sucks!!!!
 
I know that's not what you want to hear. 

But I'm tired of watching y'all blame LinkedIn while these are my numbers:
 
→ 840,000 impressions in 60 days 
→ 6,000+ new followers 
→ Up 20%
 
During the "algorithm crisis."
 
And it's not just me.
 
Michelle joined LinkedIn in 2011.
 
For 15 years, she never once hit 6,000 impressions in a single week.
 
Last week she did.
 
Cledra: Week 1 — 1,306 impressions. Week 7 — 27,000+.
 
Chloé used to hate writing. Week 8 — one post, 11,000 impressions, 131 people straight to her profile.
 
Elisha started in January. 7,915 people reached last month. Still climbing.
 
I've had a post get 8.2 million impressions. Made me $0.
 
I've had a post get 3,200 impressions. Made me $45,000.
 
The algorithm didn't do that.
 
You know what did?
 
Posts written for one specific person, about one specific problem, with one specific solution.
 
That's it. That's the whole strategy.
 
No "optimize for dwell time." 

No posting schedule. 

No 4-step framework.
 
Just who are you talking to, what keeps them up at night, and what do you know that could help?
 
Answer those 3 questions, and the algorithm becomes irrelevant.

Not a Kajabi page. 

Not a VSL. 

A Google Doc that took maybe two hours to write.
 
I've watched people copy that part and wonder why it's not working.
 
They're copying the container. Not what filled it.
 
The Google Doc only converted because of the 41 days before it. 

The content we posted. 
The emails we sent. 
The outreach channel nobody talks about that drove 58% of our revenue quietly in the background.
 
Remove any one of those things and the Google Doc is just a Google Doc.

Year one: 300,000 followers on TikTok.

Year two: 10,000 on LinkedIn. I thought I made the worst decision of my career.

I left a platform where I was growing 25,000 followers a month to start over on one where I couldn't crack 1,000.

The posts felt flat. The growth felt invisible. I watched creators half as good blow past me while I was stuck at numbers that would've embarrassed me on TikTok.

By the end of 2024, I was frustrated. Discouraged. Close to burned out.

Then I did something I only do once a quarter. I pulled the real numbers.

Not followers. Not likes. The numbers that actually matter.

Every lead source. Every conversion. Every dollar.

And the data told me a story my feelings never could.

Those 10,000 LinkedIn followers were generating more revenue than 300,000 ever did on TikTok. 

My content was converting — I just wasn't tracking where. 

Clients were finding me from posts I thought flopped. 

Revenue was coming from places I hadn't even connected back to LinkedIn.
