The human brain is a crazy place, And there are two things that fascinate me most about product and growth marketing. First: the concept of consumer logic and how rational yet irrational it can be. And second: the challenge of communicating in a way that persuades and convinces consumers always requires optimization—so you’re optimizing for something that is both rational and irrational. I apply the same thinking in product marketing that I also apply in leadership, because whether you’re connecting with consumers or with your team, you’re connecting with the fun irrationality of their logic—in order to bring ideas together, influence an outcome, and also optimize and scale for future growth.

I’ve been in sales since 2008—so long that my first job (shoutout to RadioShack) doesn’t even exist anymore. That’s where I cut my teeth helping people find the right batteries, cords, or whatever else they walked in for—and left with.

From 2008 to 2015, I worked in retail sales, then moved into inside sales and recruiting for a bit. At 29—“old” for a first-time SDR—I broke into the BDR world and haven’t looked back since.

In 2019, after time as a founding enterprise BDR at a couple of data analytics firms, I joined the outsourced appointment-setting space. I’ve worked with hundreds of clients and coached just as many SDRs, both at agencies and through freelance coaching. My thing is helping reps build confidence, systems, and messaging that actually lands.

Outside of sales, I’ve always had side projects going. Since 2018, I’ve run a podcast and video editing business on the side. And in 2023, I became a Certified Shamanic Practitioner. Through my practice, Blue Jaguar Energy Healing, I work with clients using energy healing, breathwork, and meditation to help reduce stress and reconnect with purpose.

One thing I don’t want anyone’s advice on (especially not from a ‘guru’ on LinkedIn):

Parenting advice. 

If you don’t know me or my kid; broad, preachy advice rubs me the wrong way. 

Parenting is hard and most of us are doing the best we can.

I will absolutely take parenting advice from people who actually know me and my family in real life. 

That means I’m also not going to give parenting advice on a platform like LinkedIn for those same reasons. 

Parenting is a TOUGH job with SO many variables to consider. 

If I see a carousel on “How to be a better parent” - I am hitting the unfollow button fast 😂

What type of advice do you NOT want to see on your LI feed?

I was going to share a tactical breakdown of how I use email + phone follow ups to book meetings, but that feels shallow and kind of pointless with everything going on in the world right now. So I'll say this instead:

Keep your loved ones close. 

Tell them you love them. 

Show them you love them.

Check in with yourself and show yourself love and compassion. 

That's all I've got today.
