But ask your friend for a discount.

You’ll share a big brand’s launch.
But stay silent when someone close to you starts something.

Building a business is hard AF.

If your friend starts a business:

- Buy at full price
- Give them a testimonial
- Spread the word
- Open a door for them
- Ask, “How can I help?”
- Encourage them

If you can solve a real problem FAST, you should raise your prices.

That sentence makes a lot of people uncomfortable.
Usually the ones who are undercharging the most.

If I do a job in 30 minutes, it's because I spent 10 years learning how to do it in 30 minutes.

You're not paying for the minutes.
You're paying for the years.

Most people price themselves like beginners even after a decade in the game.

They charge for time.
They apologize for invoices.
They feel guilty for being efficient.

Speed is NOT cheap.
Clarity is NOT cheap.
Knowing exactly what to do without trial and error is NOT cheap.

Underpricing doesn't make you "humble", it makes you invisible.

✅ Charge for the outcome.
❌ Not the hours.

Most people need more respect for their own skill.

Back to building. 🧠

All my mistakes as a founder... 

I learned more building Coolie from screwing up than from any “growth hack” LinkedIn post.

– I once shipped a tiny change that quietly broke 'sign up' button workflow.
Didn’t notice for 10 days. That mistake cost us a 15 demo meeting.

– I disqualified a prospect that later became one of our biggest customers.
Because I “had a gut feeling.” and my gut was wrong.

– Early on, I built features for too many people.
Product got bloated. Messaging got messy.

I deleted ~90% of it, focused on one ICP… and growth finally started

– I spent months building something I thought was smart. Turns out… nobody cared.

That’s when “don't build without talking to users” became a rule

– Partnered with a wrong co-founder who never worked as full-stack engg.

– I ignored early negative feedback because people “just didn’t get it.”
Plot twist: They actually did.

– At one point, churn slapped us in the face so hard it forced a full rethink of onboarding, positioning, and who we were actually for.

Every one of these hurt.

Some cost money.
Some cost time.
Some nearly killed momentum.

But all of them did one thing right:

They forced us to get sharper.
More focused.
More obsessed with what actually moves the needle for customers.

Coolie isn’t built on genius ideas.
It’s built on a long list of scars… and finally learning from them.
