Opened New York City engineering office for the leading provider of software-as-a-service small business marketing products following the acquisition of Bantam Networks. Managed cross-functional and cross-geographical team charged with integrating the Bantam CRM tool suite, new technologies and processes into a complex distributed architecture.

Co-founder of startup that built award-winning web-based social customer relationship management (CRM) application Bantam Live. Principal software architect for the modular, Ruby on Rails -based subscription service. Hired and managed development team, created development workflow and practices, and established deployment environment structure and operations. Company acquired in February 2011 by Constant Contact, Inc.

Created web applications in both a consulting role and as stand-­alone ventures. Developed and maintained custom content management frameworks on top of both LAMP-stack and Ruby web platforms. Projects included EventSpan.com, WebinarWire.com, KeyPeopleDirectory.com, ConferencingNews.com. Clients included Cadbury Schwepps, Pusser’s Rum, The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and Alternative Investment Group.

Design, development and user-research lead for consulting firm’s Media, Entertainment and Communications business unit. Estimated, sold and managed $2-10MM multi-disciplinary development engagements for Fortune 1000 clients and startup companies. Participated in acquisition and integration of design firm Studio Archetype. Clients included Columbia House, United Airlines, CBS and Verizon.

I've been building digital products and leading software teams for almost three decades. My experience includes engineering and product leadership roles in all sorts of organizations, from bootstrapped businesses and venture-backed startups to publicly traded companies. 

Over the years, I've been lucky enough to work, fail, and succeed with world-class creatives, engineers, marketers, and execs. I deeply understand what it takes to efficiently align people behind inventing, developing, scaling, and cultivating exceptional software products.

Today, I'm harvesting this experience to build and grow Steady, a simple approach to asynchronously coordinating work for software product orgs. Steady implements an open-source set of principles for modern knowledge work called Continuous Coordination, which I helped to create with my colleagues at Steady and other tech leaders.

Defined and executed the business development and end-to-end sales strategies for all new business opportunities. Led a global team targeting sales in the BFSI, healthcare, technology, communications/media, and retail sectors. Also led the Global Alliances team in defining and executing the strategy to achieve growth through all of Brillio’s strategic partners. 

Developed GTM offerings across five practice areas, targeting F1000 / $2B+ logos.  Engineered a business development intelligence platform to capture key sales data (contacts, revenue, business partners, markets) and enable more productive conversations. Trained team members on the new platform and how to leverage data to articulate value to clients. Ensure the ongoing success of sales reps by strengthening pipelines, removing roadblocks, and increasing access to prospects.

As interim CHRO, identified key areas to enhance people connection, DEI, career/leadership development, and employee experience. Worked with the HR leadership team to define quarterly commitments to quantify progress in each area, and introduced streamlined dashboards for tracking HR and PSC metrics.

Additionally led the Talent Acquisition team in executing Brillio’s global people strategy. Led hiring of technical and leadership roles across six key markets including the US, Canada, Mexico, UK, Romania, and India.

Strengthened the sales cycle and pipeline by building enablement tools, increasing opportunity volume, and advancing high-potential deals. Coached sales teams across practice areas and geographic markets to build competency around pipeline management and growth. Implemented and trained teams on self-service reporting capabilities and new sales approaches to drive success.

Oversaw risk-related strategy across all functions, inclusive of risk identification, mitigation and prevention, reporting, and resolution at the commercial, client, and enterprise levels. Minimized risk by monitoring project health, sales, and delivery, as well as corporate security assessments, compliance, and reputational risk. 

Mitigated financial liability by identifying projects with the most room to improve profitability. Evaluated risk factors at client organizations with the potential to impact relationship and business continuity. Identified internal teams with concerning levels of attrition, performance, and delivery issues. 

Served as part of the Global Client Risk Office leadership team, as well as the primary point of contact for the company’s COVID-19 response and risk planning efforts.

A key member of Publicis Sapient’s leadership team focused on strengthening global sales capability. Established and implemented a new roadmap to enhance sales operations and revenue attainment on a rolling four-quarter basis. Coached teams in North America, EMEA, and APAC on pipeline development, analytics, and reporting. Additionally led Sales Support and Salesforce implementation teams across all Publicis Sapient business units.

Drove complex engagements for the UK organization while maturing the agency’s processes and future program management frameworks for large-scale consulting projects. Led successful turnaround of a large automotive initiative across five geographies, leading and training a global team of 500 staff on the new operating model.

Served as COO for Razorfish North America and part of the global leadership team following Publicis’ acquisition of Sapient. Expanded role with global responsibility, setting best-in-class controls for delivery, financial reporting, and people supply chain to support the rapidly growing agency. Provided leadership across Delivery Management, Resource Management, Technology Operations, and Vendor Operations teams.
