Up until 2021, my career was centered on Marketing. I went to school for marketing, the first part of my career was in marketing, and everything seemed to be on track.

Then, in 2021, I was laid off as a Director of Marketing for a tech startup after roughly 60 days. Everything happens for a reason, right?  

I had the unique opportunity to spend time reflecting on my career and figure out what I really wanted to do next. And looking back, it all makes sense now.

Night Crew - File charts using a tertiary filing system, file new documents in patient records, release records to other facilities, deliver charts to the floor for patient care as needed.  Clinic Desk - Interact with the patients and other facilities, directed calls and visitors to the department as needed.  List Desk - Organizing and tracking requests for patient medical records, pull ~250 charts per day, piloted electronic requests saving time and money for the department.  Deficiency Analyst - Analyze patient charts during and after the patient admission to ensure compliance with hospital and national standards, contact providers to inform and assist them in completing their charts, reanalyze charts, assist providers over the phone, by e-mail and in person, create and deliver Health Information employee training for the Epic 2012 go live.
