5 reminders when it feels like things are falling apart 👇

☝️ Step 1: Accept the shedding season

The job that didn't work out? It wasn't your job.
The relationship that ended? It wasn't your person.
The opportunity that just closed? It wasn't your door.

You're not behind. You're in transition. 
Trees don't panic when their leaves fall. 

Some things need to end for new things to begin. 
It's not failure—it's making space for something better.

✌️ Step 2: Anchor to your roots

Don't focus on the noise. Focus on what's unchanging about you.

Your values. Your capacity for growth. Your deepest relationships.

These are your roots—they keep you grounded when everything else shifts.

🤟 Step 3: Use the bare season for growth

Without leaves, trees put all their energy into getting stronger. 

Without your old life consuming your time, 
you can now invest in your future self. 

Read books. Take the course. Learn new skills. Make plans. 

This isn't downtime—it's when the most growth happens.

🖖 Step 4: Trust the timing

Trees don't force their leaves to grow back in winter. 

They wait. 
They trust the process. 

Your new life is already growing beneath the surface. 
You can't see it yet, but you're getting closer to your breakthrough.

Sleep 8 hours. 
Move your body. 
Call people who matter. 
Take the next right step. 
Repeat. 

This is how the best comeback stories are written.

Hot take: Most people give up too soon.

The most successful ones know The Bamboo Rule:

When bamboo is planted, it shows no growth for 5 years.
Nothing above the soil.

But something miraculous happens in year 5:
The bamboo shoots up to 80+ feet in just 6 weeks (!!)

Many of us start projects or businesses with enthusiasm. 
But when we don't see immediate results, we assume it’s not working.

We even dig up our seeds to "see if they're growing"—
killing our potential breakthrough.

The 3-Step Bamboo Rule:

1. Track “root” metrics

Don't focus only on visible outcomes. 
↳ Instead, identify your "root metrics"—
the invisible foundation work that leads to big results.

If you're trying to grow your LinkedIn brand, 
don't obsess over followers and impressions in your first few weeks. 

Instead, track:
➟ Number of posts published per week (consistency) 
➟ Quality connections made with other creators
➟ Skills developed (writing, design, ideation) 
➟ Meaningful conversations in comments and DMs

These build your foundation—even when no one's watching.

2. Don’t dig up your seeds 

Give yourself 90 days minimum before evaluating success.

Common seed-digging behaviors I see new creators make:
➟ Checking the number of likes on a post every 30 mins
➟ Deleting posts if they don’t get a lot of impressions immediately 
➟ Comparing your results to creators with established audiences

Keep going. Your breakthrough is so much closer than you think.

3. Find your supporters

➟ Reach out to 3-5 LinkedIn creators who understand the bamboo rule. 
➟ Message each other weekly.
➟ Each person shares 1 "root win" (skill improvement, connection made, insight gained)

This accountability keeps you watering your bamboo 
every time self-doubt creeps in.

Harsh Truth:

Everyone wants the 80 foot bamboo.
No one wants the years of invisible growth.

Extraordinary results require consistent effort.

That's the difference between those who break through

I spent years making a living.

3 ways I'm learning to make a life:

To me, a "rich life" is about 3 things:
slow mornings, a quiet mind, and people you love.

So here's what I changed:

1) I bought my time back.
↳ I say no to meetings that could be emails.
↳ I deleted apps that stole hours without giving anything back.
↳ I outsource things I don't like doing (taxes, yard work, grocery delivery).

Every hour I reclaim is an hour I get to spend on what matters.

2) I stopped saying "I'll do it later"
That was code for: "This isn't a priority."

↳ When my grandma wants to FaceTime during a busy workday, I pick up.
↳ When a friend invites me to dinner, I move things around to make it.

The work emails will wait. Don't postpone the people you love.

3) I ask myself: "Will I remember this in 10 years?"

↳ That luxury handbag? Probably not.
↳ That weekend trip with my mom? Absolutely.

The Rolex means nothing if you're always checking it, wishing you were somewhere else.
