I am managing UK billing operations for Telcoinabox Ltd, to ensure all telecoms bills are produced and reconciled as well as all supplier invoices reconciled against raw carrier billing data. A major part of this role is maintaining and updating the product and billing database utilising SQL, in effect being the manager and gatekeeper of billing, revenue assurance, price routing, and the product portfolio.

Key Achievements:

•	Designed revenue assurance methods with measures to detect billing anomalies and reconciliation of CDR data preventing losses and increasing profits
•	Developed and innovated new efficient workflows saving time and money
•	Transformed billing processes and developed automation for efficiencies

Just hit 22,000 followers on LinkedIn.

- I don't post carousels
- I don't use fancy images
- I don't comment for 2 hours/day
- I don't suck up to the big creators

And I started Jan 2025 with 10k followers

Nah, I'm way too busy for all that nonsense.

Here's what I actually do:

- Post 4x a week (consistently)
- Respond to comments like a normal human
- Have banter with people (crazy concept, I know)
- Try to connect with 20 ICPs/day
- DM 10x prospects/day just to start a convo

That's literally it.

No secret hacks
No fancy funnels
No automation tools

Just showing up, being real, and starting convos.

I used to believe all the guru advice too.

- "You NEED to comment for 2 hours every day!"
- "You NEED to engage with big creators!"
- "You NEED carousels to grow!"

But actually you just need to talk to people!

Honestly, the bar is that low now haha

Be consistent
Start convos
Be YOU

- Don't have all the answers

- Don't have a plan for the next 6 months

When I first started treating LinkedIn seriously:

- I had no plan 
- I had no idea what would work 
- I felt like giving up 90% of the time 
- I got ignored for months on end

But I kept showing up. 
Kept learning. 
Kept improving.  

Sometimes I laugh at my old posts & DMs (proper cringe)

By trying, you're doing better than most.  

Keep posting
Keep DM'ing
Keep learning

Eventually, it clicks 😎

My little solo biz looks sooo sad on paper:

- I work from home by myself
- I don't do in-person networking events
- It's literally just me and my laptop
- I talk about LinkedIn wayyyy too much
- I spend most of my day in the DMs or on calls
- I haven't worn proper trousers in weeks lol

Pretty sad, innit?

But I also get to do some pretty cool stuff:

- I take my kids to school and pick them up every day
- No commute (bed to desk in 10 seconds)
- I only work with clients I actually like
- I get to say no to stuff that doesn't excite me
- My office is wherever my laptop is
- I'm building MY thing, not someone else's

A business doesn't have to look impressive.

Sometimes it's just about doing things YOUR way.

And honestly?

That can be more than enough 👊


P.S. What's the "boring" part of your work that you secretly love? 🤷‍♂️

She wasted £1,000's on a LinkedIn coach in 2025:

- Zero ideal clients won
- Zero strategy for warm leads
- Zero help with DMs or outreach
- Zero replies when she DM'd prospects

Just likes, impressions and a lot of frustration tbh

She came to me pretty fed up!

She's a recruitment founder and was told 
"keep posting and the leads will come."

Yeah.... that didn't happen lol.

Her DMs were the problem:

- Too long
- Too stuffy
- Too scripted
- Too automated

Sounded like most other recruiters tbh.

(prospects could smell the copy & paste a mile away)

So we binned 'em.

Started fresh with something simple:

- Short messages
- A casual tone
- Tailored to the individual
- Asking questions + being curious

No pitching or essays. Just being human.

After JUST 6 days:

- 1x new client signed
- 7x live roles picked up
- £30,000 added to her pipeline
- Multiple other convos happening 

Not from going viral.

From learning how to send a proper DM.

Most people overthink this stuff.

But simple, human messages beat scripted nonsense!

Going viral won't grow your biz

Starting convos will 👊


P.S. What's the fastest way to make you delete a DM?  🤷‍♂️

Running a solo biz has its downsides.

But here's 10 reasons I LOVE it:

 1. I never have to pretend to laugh at a coworker's joke
 2. Employee of the month award is always mine
 3. I can talk to myself without judgment
 4. No one steals my lunch from the fridge
 5. The bathroom is never occupied
 6. I always agree with my boss
 7. Time for school pickup at 3pm
 8. Freedom to say no to stuff that doesn't excite me
 9. No office politics or toxic workplaces
10. Building something that's actually mine

Running a solo biz isn't for everyone.

But I've never lost an argument at work.

So I'm happy 😎


P.S. What's YOUR favourite perk of working solo? (Weird answers encouraged 😅)

My post last Thursday did pretty well tbh:  

- 38,907 impressions 
- 689 likes 
- 586 comments 
- 100+ new followers  

Felt kinda nice, ngl

But the day before I did another post:  

- 6,434 impressions 
- 121 likes 
- 122 comments  

And that "smaller" post booked me 3 sales calls.  

The viral one? Zero.  

Most people are playing the wrong game entirely.  

They focus wayyyyyy too much on getting:  

- More likes 
- More followers 
- More impressions  

But that don't pay the bills.  

The 2nd post spoke directly to my ICP's pain point.  

It wasn't designed to go viral.  

It was designed to attract the right people.  

And it did exactly that.  

That's how LinkedIn makes you money 👊   


P.S. Ever had a 'flop' make you more money than a viral hit? 🤷‍♂️

These "R.I.P [insert random thing]" posts are AWFUL!

"I've generated 7,427 calls in 22mins using this exact strategy.

Comment [random word] and I'll send it to ya"

What a load of BS!!

I get that everyone wants shortcuts.

But bro, if you could actually do this you'd be charging $1,000's for it.

(And rightly so)

Not giving it away for free to look like a nice guy.

Ya know what happens next?

You get some AI slop that does nothing.

Then you're on their "lead list" and they'll be pitching you to see if you'd like them to get this setup for ya.

Same playbook. Every. Single. Time.

I'm done with seeing this rubbish EVERYWHERE!

And don't even get me started on the whole "I replaced my $168,000 marketing department with this one prompt" nonsense 🙄

90% of people track the wrong stuff on LinkedIn:

- Impressions on posts
- Follower count
- Number of engagements they get
- How many profile views they're getting
- Number of comments they leave every day

Most of this is just for ego

(Especially when you're trying to grow a biz)

And yet they ignore what actually matters:

- Convos started
- Reply percentages
- Sales calls booked
- Closing ratio on calls
- Money in the bank

I see people posting daily, waiting for inbound leads to magically appear.

But that's not what grows your biz. 

What DOES grow your biz is:

1. Starting convos in the DMs
2. Growing your network with ICP's
3. Tracking data so you know what's working

I book 5+ calls/week doing this. Nothing fancy. Just doing what works on repeat.

You ONLY need to track what gets you paid. 

Everything else is just noise 👊


P.S. What's one metric you've stopped tracking on here? 🙋‍♂️

I spend 8 mins/day starting DMs and book 5+ calls/week.

Here's the exact system I use:

I ALWAYS follow up with:

- Profile viewers
- Post engagers
- New connections and followers

The Process I use:

1. Morning check (3 mins)
- Look at who viewed my profile in the last 24hrs
- Check who engaged with yesterday's post
- See new connection requests

2. Send 3 types of messages (5 mins)

Type A - Profile viewers:
"Li told me you had a little peek at my profile 😎. [One line relevant observation]. How's Li been for you recently?"

Type B - Post engagers:
"Thanks for your comment on my post about [topic]. [Question about their comment]?"

Type C - New connections:
"Thanks for connecting. Out of interest, are you just here for the content or are you trying to win more clients?"

3. Wait for replies. Start convos.

That's it.

Just questions that start real convos.  

 The difference between this and cold outreach is insane:

- Cold outreach: 3 hours/day for average results 
- This system: 8 mins/day with leads who already know you

90% of my calls come from these simple follow-ups.

People overthink DMs.

But warm leads + simple questions = booked calls.  

That's the whole game 👊


P.S. What's your go-to DM opener? 🤔

My impressions dropped 50% in June 2025.

- Fewer profile views
- Fewer comments
- Fewer new followers
- Fewer inbound inquiries

Most people spent this time moaning about LinkedIn.

But I didn't.

Turns out it was the best thing that could've happened!

I did something I'd been lazy with:

- Getting in the DMs
- Starting real convos
- Following up with profile viewers
- Reaching out to people engaging with my stuff
- Connecting with ideal clients who followed me

And it worked.

- More DM convos
- More calls booked
- More clients signed
- More than 2x'd my revenue

Relying purely on inbound? Risky AF!

(as I found out myself)

One algo change and your pipeline dies.

Post content + be proactive is a winning combo.

These people are already warm:

- Profile viewers
- Post engagers
- New followers
- Connection requests

Don't wait for them to come to you.
