Spinal Modulation

In this role I was responsible for the development and implementation of marketing strategies within Europe and Australia which included product launches, product training and market development initiatives.

Key successes included an increase in awareness within the global hernia market of dorsal root ganglion (DRG) stimulation for the treatment of post-herniorrhaphy pain.  This resulted in a significant increase in referrals from hernia surgeons to implanting centres.  Secondly, the delivery of a comprehensive physician and sales force training portfolio to help increase the adoption rates of DRG stimulation in existing and new clinical areas.

Key achievements in this role included the delivery of an international physician symposium for 170 attendees (from 10 countries), the development and implementation of a successful patient awareness program and three product launches within Europe and Australia.

CR Bard

In this role I was fortunate to identify and manage the introduction of a new procedure for inguinal hernia repair using an existing proprietary product.  This involved close work with my US colleagues to secure project funding and with key opinion leaders to validate the technique and set up a training network across Europe.  In addition to this I launched three products within Europe each of which exceeded budget expectations.

European Marketing Manager, Davol

During my time as national sales manager I led a team of 9 sales specialists.  The sector was seeing commoditisation of certain product lines in a financially challenging climate and it was my role to realign the market strategy and sales force to mitigate any impact on overall sales.  This was achieved by focusing the sales efforts on proprietary products that afforded significant benefits to certain patient populations.  This also helped to position the company as a specialist angioplasty and stent manufacturer.

National Sales Manager, Peripheral Vascular

My role as product manager spanned across two product portfolios each of which had its own customer base and sales force.  In order to succeed in this role I had to work closely with each national sales manager to ensure a consistent marketing message was delivered to each team and ultimately to the customers.  

Key achievements in this role included launching two technically challenging products (one for each division) which required an in-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology, allowing each product to be introduced to the sales force in a clear and concise manner.  This was achieved and both products exceeded their first year sales forecast.

Product Manager, Soft Tissue Repair - Davol

During my sales career at Bard I was responsible for hernia repair products (Davol) in London.  During my tenure I increased my business by 108% earning me a nomination for newcomer of the year in 2006 and winning sales person of the year and presidents club in 2007.

At Ethicon Endo-Surgery I was responsible for sales for the Harmonic Scalpel in London.  In 2003 I was awarded newcomer of the year and in 2004 I received UK sales person of the year and European runner up. I was especially proud of my time at Ethicon Endo-surgery as I grew my territory by 83% (£430K) in 2004 to produce the first £1,000,000 territory for the Harmonic scalpel.
