Let me share a little of my experience.

Over the past four decades, I've been in business. From working in the family company to founding or co-founding over 8 successful startups… Conventional and tech based.

In 2012, I co-founded Buzinga Apps, a small app development company based in Melbourne.

We grew Buzinga to one of the fastest-growing development agencies in Australia, until late 2017 when we sold.

During this period, sadly I witnessed numerous clients fail to achieve commercial success… Many, for reasons I thought were totally avoidable (in retrospect).

This sparked my obsession with success systems for tech startups.

I delved deep into design thinking, lean methodology, lean startup, and exponential growth strategy, among others. And had the opportunity to hang out with a bunch of successful founders, gaining their insights about what it takes.

There are several fundamental steps at each stage of tech business growth that must be completed to have any chance at commercial success.

In the past five years I have coached five tech startups to successful outcomes and impacted more than 120 with advice, guides and training.

I wear a few hats — and somehow still keep them balanced while 'raising' six kids. I’m an entrepreneur, mentor, and adviser who’s spent the last 15+ years helping founders and small business leaders build clarity, capability, and confidence to grow — especially when time is tight and the stakes are high.

After nearly two decades in global leadership roles at Nokia, I made the shift from corporate to community, co-founding 25eight (a certified B Corp) and the social enterprise Entrepreneurs&Co. I now work as an Industry Growth Program Adviser with AusIndustry, supporting innovative businesses as they commercialise ideas and scale in sectors aligned to the National Reconstruction Fund — including defence, renewables, medical science, and value-add manufacturing.

In addition to my role as Chief Mentor at 25eight, I also support as a pitch mentor for organisations, including SXSW Sydney, helping founders distill their ideas into something powerful, practical, and pitch-perfect.

I have a theory I call Hacking Serendipity, built on the equation: Hacking Serendipity = Action + Luck. I believe luck doesn’t just happen — it shows up when you take action first. It’s a mindset I share with founders and teams to help them build momentum, take bold steps, and stay open to the unexpected.

Since 2009, I’ve lived by a personal philosophy inspired by the film Yes Man — choosing to say yes more often than not. That approach has led to new adventures, connections, and a life that’s definitely not boring :). That same spirit shapes the way I work with startups and SMEs across Australia’s innovation landscape.
