HOW TO NETWORK - Does your introduction hit the spot?

My curiosity got the better of me! Having seen people sharing their digital images created by using the trending caricature prompt, I asked AI to create an image of me based on what it could discover about me.

I was curious to discover if my content and messaging was clear and consistent enough for it to highlight who I really am because it's Friday and it's time for some fun.

Clarity of purpose and clarity in communication (especially when networking and in job interviews) is what I highlight to my career transition clients every day so I wanted to find out if I was “doing as I do”, not just telling my clients to “do as I say”.

AI found my digital footprint including my work, my words in articles it could find from media interviews, my articles on my website, and on LinkedIn, my podcast episodes, and my images.

I uploaded a recent photograph of me and asked it to create an image that represented who it believed I am and the results were impressive!

It created a caricature of me standing at a crossroads with signposts behind me: New Path. Next Chapter. Uncertain? Let me help.

There’s a sunrise on the horizon signifying hope, a podcast microphone and cup of coffee showcasing my podcast, ‘YOUR CAREER with Jane Jackson’, and a copy of my book, ‘Navigating Career Crossroads’ in my hands! 

It was remarkably accurate. AI had interpreted my patterns.

Career transition guidance.
Support.
Authorship.
Optimism.

It pieced together the signals I consistently share and the themes I return to, the language I use, the problems I care about solving.

Whether we like it or not, we are constantly signalling through our posts, our conversations, our interviews, our visual image, our online content and the stories we tell.

These stories are interpreted not just by humans now but also by intelligent systems.

It was reassuring to me that the image it created aligned with who I know myself to be:

A steady guide at a crossroads who is calm through uncertainty, practical, encouraging and focused on helping others move forward with clarity.

I understand AI can only amplify what is already there.

If your message is scattered, it reflects confusion. If your values are unclear, it reflects noise. If you are trying to be everything to everyone, it reflects inconsistency.

The exercise was fascinating because it confirmed something I have always believed:

When you truly understand who you are and what you bring to the table, the the people you serve, and even the algorithms, recognise that.

The real work, especially for job seekers is not just polishing your Linkedin profile, it is knowing yourself.

Once you gain career clarity, everything else falls into place.
