Connecticut just became the first state to launch a creator marketplace.

It’s called C4 — the Connecticut Content Creator Collaborative: a free, searchable database where local businesses can discover and connect with creators based on content category, geography, audience, platform, and price.

Creators currently in the marketplace include Mimi Gonzalez, Michell C Clark, Alex Curtis, PJ Kennedy, and more. 

Why this matters:

🤝🏾 Many local and small businesses miss out on the power of creator marketing. They don’t have the budget for a platform or agency — or even the time to manually find partners. C4 gives them a simple, accessible on-ramp.

💡 Creators of all sizes gain visibility and access to partnership opportunities, especially with local businesses and causes they’re already passionate about.

📈 The state gets modern storytelling that drives tourism, local business growth, and community connection.

"C4 is about recognizing that power and giving it structure," said Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont. "It's a modern economic development tool rooted in creativity, community, and connection."

That’s the key takeaway.

The more institutions support creators, the clearer it becomes: the creator economy drives real impact — for creators, businesses, and communities alike.

I expect other states will launch similar initiatives soon… hopefully Massachusetts is next. 🤞🏾
