I had a guy reply to one of my cold DMs. Said he was interested, asked what the offer was. Normally I'd fire off a few paragraphs. But I stopped because I knew what was going to happen. He was going to skim it, assume it was AI, and never reply. So I sent a voice note instead… And he messaged back instantly. "Perfect, send it."

Voice notes work because they make you sound like a real person - at a time when everyone else sounds like ChatGPT.

Here's how to do it right:

1. Keep it under 45 seconds

If it looks like work, buyers will skip it.

You've done it - you see a 2-minute audio message and think, "I'll get to that later"… and never do.

Short notes get played. Long notes get ignored.

Keep it tight. Say what matters. Stop talking.

And don't send somebody a 10 minute unedited loom video…

2. Recording quality matters

One time I was in the zone… riding back in a cab

So I blasted through 30 voice notes to different prospects

Felt hella productive…

Then nothing. No replies.

So I went back and listened.

The taxi window was open and I couldn't hear a word

The background noise was LOUDER than my voice

If I couldn't understand it, the buyer definitely couldn't.

And their captions program would have no chance of understanding..

So, deals dead - we learn and move on

3. Don't ONLY use voice notes

I get it - you found a new superpower…

Don't send a voice note that says "Yes."

Don't send one that spells out a URL.

Voice notes are for explaining value, handling objections, building trust.

If they ask "How does it work?" - send a note

If they say "Can I get the link?" - just text it

Buyers shouldn't have to listen just to find out something simple

If a message would be under 5 seconds? Just type it out.

4. Go for the close

If someone's ready, send a payment link

Don't ask for a call. Don't "circle back later."

I've closed full $5K+ deals in chat. Back and forth for 5 minutes… Payment sent.

If your offer is under $10K/month, you don't even need long contracts

Send a one pager or docusign and get it approved while still having the conversation

Then why the hell are you wasting time studying outbound infrastructure and systems when the obvious thing you need to do is CALL YOUR LEADS.

Work your network. Pitch them your offer.

Send this text to everyone in your funnel (regardless of how much time it's been):

"Hey Mike, are we still moving forward with the website project?"

Replace "website project" with your keywords like cold email campaign, SEO project - whatever fits.

Text that to 100 people in your address book and I bet you get deal flow by the end of the day.

And once you've squeezed every drop out of these channels...

* When your offer is locked in
* Your price is high enough that you can make a 90% profit and low enough that clients would kill to work with you...
* Your sales systems are so tight that you don't waste the influx of leads that's coming...

That's when you scale.
