Recent data shows a shift in how AI search works: referral traffic from LLMs has grown sharply, but visibility and clicks are now trending differently.

In a dataset tracked by Growth Memo, LLM referral traffic rose by +65% in B2B since January 2025 yet clicks from those sources are showing signs of declining.

This means the KPI has changed for marketers: it’s less about how many visitors hit your site, and more about how often your brand is seen or cited. AI-powered search is evolving into a visibility surface, not just a traffic source.

Here are three practical shifts to keep in mind:
↳ Design content to earn citations, not just clicks; optimise entities, summaries, and structure for LLMs.
↳ Measure share-of-voice and brand mentions in AI channels, not only organic traffic volume.
↳ Prioritise topic authority and clarity so your content stands as a trusted reference in AI answers.

What if I tell you GTM playbooks vary by company size & growth stage?

Among a staggering 195 GTM leaders surveyed:
↳ Only 23% use Inbound as their primary motion
↳ 19% use Outbound
↳ 18% use Account-Based Marketing

This shows that inbound marketing is no longer the dominant growth driver; no single Go-To-Market (GTM) motion correlates strongly with growth. The average B2B company runs 5 core channels and 5.5 experiments simultaneously. 

Top 3 core channels are:

↳ SEO (53%)
↳ Warm Outbound (48%)

For 2026, 51% of companies plan to increase investment in AI search, while only 14% plan to increase SEO spend. Winning GTM motions include intent-driven outbound, market intelligence, and content marketing. 

Companies are encouraged to stop experimenting excessively, start scaling effective channels, cut what doesn’t work, and double down on success.

LinkedIn’s latest Work Change Report shows a shift in mindset and behaviour of Indian Small Businesses.

Small businesses in India are stepping into 2026 with real momentum. Entrepreneurship is rising sharply as India sees a 104% jump in members adding “founder” to their profile, the highest across global markets. Conversations about building something new are up 198%. The energy is visible.  

AI is becoming the equalizer. 83% of small business leaders in India say AI is critical for growth, and 97% are already using it in some form. AI literacy is rising fast - up 52% year over year for companies with 11–200 employees.

Brand credibility is emerging as a core growth lever. 78% of global SMB marketers are investing in community-driven content, and 86% in India see video as essential to building trust. Buyers rely on people they know, and businesses are responding with customer voices and expert-led content.  

Networks are becoming currency. Indian professionals at small companies are growing connections 28% year over year, faster than larger firms. And 73% say input from their community helps them make decisions more quickly. Relationships are shaping strategy, not just sales.

Google’s AI Overviews are reshaping where visibility comes from.

Most AIOs sit on top of informational searches: “how to,” “what is,” “why does.” These queries now trigger AI answers far more often than they show traditional organic results. 

Long queries see the highest takeover rates, and some categories (Health, Science, YMYL) are seeing AI responses on nearly half of all searches.

Branded and commercial intent searches remain more stable. People looking for a company, a tool, or a transaction still see traditional blue links in most cases. That gap is where marketers still have room to grow, defend, and influence.

The big shift is that informational SEO is becoming an AI-first environment. You can still rank, but the click patterns change. High-ranking pages in certain categories will see fewer visits simply because AI answers sit above them. Marketers should know which of your queries fall into high-AIO territory.

↳ Build authority that AI can reference.

This structure keeps conversations dynamic. New ideas can surface at any time, not just in the first few minutes of a post. Thoughtful comments get recognised, and deeper threads form naturally without overwhelming the main feed.
