I didn’t learn sales and marketing from trends or playbooks.
I learned it through real life.

I started working at 13 in retail and customer service, which shaped how I see selling early: people don’t choose the loudest brand - they choose what feels clear, credible, and trustworthy.

I later worked in marketing research with the Sarawak state government, helping sales teams win international business events through strategy and positioning. I then spent 10 years in pharmaceutical sales and marketing with Fortune 500 companies, where ethics and customer success were non-negotiable.

Moving into real estate and performance marketing later showed me why many businesses struggle today: weak positioning, outdated selling skills, and disconnected systems.

That gap is exactly what I help businesses close.

I used to think mentoring was just…“haiya, sit down, see resume and talk only… how much impact can that really have?”
Then I realised something.

Sometimes a 1–2 hour conversation changes someone’s direction more than a course ever could.

and then..

Was digesting a much talked about podcast episode of Alex Hormozi and Tony Robbins.

I didn’t want to hear other people’s takes first.
Just wanted to sit with it myself.

And then it clicked.

The difference between working from duty vs purpose.
Push vs pull.

I don’t want to only “get it” when I’m older.

Because feeling alive in what we do matters. (I’m a ENFP 😆)

You see people with rank, wealth, status…
yet still feeling empty inside. They’d do all kind of 💩 and self sabo.

Lately, I’ve been observing my golf coach.

He works harder than most younger folks.
Clocking 9-10 hours a day when most people his age have retired.

The Malaysian heat 🌞 is no joke.
But he still shows up. Rain or shine.
Still patiently teaching - kids to adults.

Then one day, he showed me his students’ medals 🥇

The smile on his face…

Pure joy. So contagious ✨

And I finally got it.

He’s not pushing himself to work.
(You know that feeling? The micro fatigue feeling when we reluctantly get out of bed everyday?) 

He’s being pulled 👈

By purpose.
By meaning.
By seeing others grow.

It made me reflect…

Why do we depend so much on push motivation?
(Talks, ra-ra goal settings - set and forget, chicken soup for the soul to self soothe etc) 

Even the biggest hustlers (Alex himself) talk about the grind and the burn (emptiness, numbness even when achieving wealth goal).

But why force it?

Why chase external pressure
when we can find an internal pull?

Because when something truly pulls you…

You don’t need pushing.

You just show up.

And maybe that’s the kind of legacy that lasts for generations.

I wana be that kind of guide too 🥹

What’s pulling you?

I get this a lot - Steph, you’re a nerd 😌 yes I am. Despite navigating some depressing phase due to facing difficulty with ad account.. happy to see clients getting good results still. 

My belief is simple: to get better results from marketing spend.. 

✔️healthy amount of risks and testing new creative angle and offer helps with increasing upside 

✔️can’t keep on doing things the same old way - especially in MARKETING 

✔️ offer must match the way your best client make decision

✔️ experience in sales matter - understanding your customer psychology helps in running winning campaigns with actual ROI 

✔️ study metrics that matter - not all metrics matter! Tracking conversion matters 🌟

🙌 Collaboration between sales and marketing + the leader is the UTMOST important for results to show and grow. 

Sadly, a lot of time, uncollaborative founders / leaders can hinder better growth. There’s only so much we can do if leaders are not willing to grow or are pessimistic or passive.

#thankful A great reminder to continue being intentional in creating content and sharing insights that matter, that uplifts.. I'm not a "creator" but I'd love to be of value.

🌟Choosing the right platform matters too.. 

My kind of content may not work well on IG/Meta (never intentionally build it and I don't have the bandwidth for so many platforms) - my Linkedin here is 7-8 times bigger..

🌟 Go where your brilliance is needed and celebrated.

There's no BEST platform for everyone.

Keep experimenting, learning, improving..

⭐ Not every content is measured by likes..

Some of the impact can come very much later...

Not all impact is instant and loud. 

Keep doing and being you. 

🌟Every B2B sales and also high ticket services need to show up here on Linkedin - no matter the naysayers. I wouldn't be able to grow my business and connect with clients (some beyond my wildest dreams) if not because of Linkedin.

But show up strategically. Connect mindfully and 
lead with value and giver mindset.
