As Co-Host of Our B2B SaaS Journey, I lead conversations that unpack the unfiltered reality of building a B2B SaaS company from ideation to (hopefully) exit. 

Together with my co-founder, I share the wins, missteps, and frameworks that shape how we build SixSides, an event and community engagement platform.

Core Responsibilities

Content leadership: Shape episode themes around the real problems and decisions we face as early-stage founders.

On-air hosting: Co-present weekly podcast episodes, providing perspective from my role as Sales/Marketing Lead.

During my tenure with the company, I led and structured business of 17 direct reports plus engineering, marketing, channels and services across SEA to achieve annual sales target of $11 million; redesigned and aligned team to sales targets and accounts; overlay alignment with country Managing Directors (5), and SuccessFactors business leaders; identified pipeline conversion issues, using sales processes to instill deal discipline; and created a channel strategy to create structure in SEA GTM.

I refocused the team to improve productivity and results by 600% in six months and addressed ongoing sales issues through data gathering, issues analysis, and action. I identified internal gaps as a result of services business sold to HP, oversaw process re-development. My team worked closely with the HP brand to ensure their customers’ needs were met during transition. I also generated new business and cultivated key account relationships while managing complex, high-dollar sales process (6-12 month cycles; $3M-$100M+ deals, 3-5 year contracts), from initial client consultation through all phases of negotiation to final sales closing and contract delivery.

I was recruited by a mature-stage start-up company (500 employees) as its first Asia hire, to drive regional business, build a new sales team and launch the AppSense (now known as Avanti) business in ASEAN. I prospected and drove new business, leveraged industry contracts to grow the sales pipeline, and built new businesses from scratch. I was able to establish APAC partnerships with big-name tech companies (e.g. IBM, Dimension Data and Daou Tech Korea) and designed, implemented migration solutions for our partners.

I was Microsoft’s first cloud services salesperson in Asia, and was responsible for promoting cloud-based solutions to enterprise companies and governments in the region. I held a high-profile position collaborating with senior Microsoft leadership (including the CEO) to facilitate organizational objectives and worked with the Head of Enterprise Sales on strategic growth initiatives. I helped train regional sales teams on various company products and services, resulting in enhanced client satisfaction. I salvaged a multi-million account and regional Microsoft brand by addressing the CIO’s concerns and issues with the existing ERP product and solution. I helped create a strong presence in APAC for the Microsoft brand with the launch of the Cloud Service business; and built an APAC Cloud Services pipeline to 300%+ of global regional average. I also co-authored and published a widely acclaimed whitepaper, “Reinventing IT as a Business Driver - How Thick is Your Cloud?” for Microsoft Services APAC’s CIO Magazine in February 2011.
