I help men heal from pornography, and it's the most rewarding thing in the world 

Cause to be honest, healing has almost nothing to do with the pornography 

And almost EVERYTHING to do with helping men:

Was talking with a client who said:

"I'm always scared that I don't deserve good things. I doubt myself all the time, and I beat myself up ..

...It's awful."

He was stressed 
He was overwhelmed 

And so he used pornography as a way to deal with it all temporarily 

And he had tried for years to just STOP 

"This is stupid." He would say to himself. "I'm DONE."

But he would slip back into old cycles again and again 

When we first started meeting, I told him:

And now? We're gonna help you face these parts of you.

With compassion and curiosity."

When we are young, we have experiences that teach us to shut down parts of our humanity:

Curiosity annoyed your parents
Anger scared your family
Crazy behavior was "disruptive"
Imperfection was a disappointment
Sadness needed to be "solved"
Worth had to be earned

Healing, then, is the process by which we learn to embrace the parts of our humanity that got shut down

Allow yourself to curious again
Treat your anger with kindess
Be crazy, have fun, act goofy
Learn from mistakes, give yourself grace
Sit with your sadness and say, 'hi'
Love yourself regardless of the outcomes

The more I do this work, the more I believe wholeheartedly...

The heart of all healing is deep, real, self acceptance

The more YOU want YOU

The less you'll care if others want you

The more you'll live with courage

The more you'll try new things

The more consistent you'll become

The more fulfillment you'll find in your relationships


Healing is not the absence of pain
Healing is the ability to be WITH our pain

With compassion and courage
