Building 3 SaaS from an old farm under renovation in Provence 🌞

Here's what it actually costs:
🏡 860€ - house loan
🛠️ 500€ - raw materials for renovation
🥩 450€ - food (organic, meat, fish, weekly village market)
🍽️ 300€ - various expenses (bars, restaurants, orders)
⚡ 170€ - electricity
⛽ 150€ - car fuel (no public transport here)
🛡️ 100€ - insurances (house, life, health)
🍷🧀 50€ - wine & cheese (non-negotiable)
📡 40€ - internet w/ Starlink (no fiber, no ADSL)
🔥 40€ - wood for the "poêle à bois"
📱 27€ - phone 

Total: 2,687€/month

That's what it costs to live the "remote SaaS founder in the countryside" life.

No Paris rent. No coworking space. Just a farm, internet, and a lot of cheese.

Distribution is 10x harder than building.

maybe 100x.

You can ship a full SaaS in 1 day now (even as a non-dev).

But it'll still take months to make your first dollar.

Why?

Building = solve a problem.
Distribution = find the people who have it, convince them you solved it, and make them pay.

That's the hard part.

Most founders quit here.

Not because the product sucks.
Because they don't know how to distribute.

Tips to reach $83,333 MRR ($1M ARR)
Not there yet, but based on 10 years of entrepreneurship, here's the golden list:

- Sleep well (~8 hours)
- Exercise (~30 min/day)
- Stop doomscrolling
- Walk every day
- Work hard
- Talk to users
- Do marketing

That's it.

No hacks. No shortcuts. Just basics done consistently.

But nobody talks about the REAL game.

NRR (Net Revenue Retention) 🧪

Quick definition:
NRR = revenue from existing customers after 12 months/revenue from those same customers 12 months ago.

→ NRR < 100% = you're losing revenue (churn)
→ NRR = 100% = customers stay, same spend
→ NRR > 100% = customers expand (upsells, upgrades)

Benchmarks:
→ SMB SaaS median: 97%
→ Mid-Market median: 108%
→ Enterprise median: 115%
→ Top performers: 130%+

Not every SaaS can upsell. That's fine.
If you're an SMB with no expansion model, 95-100% NRR is solid.
You're not leaking. That's the game 💪

But here's where it gets interesting: 2 startups. Both start at $10K MRR.

Startup A: AI hype machine
→ 250% MoM growth 🚀
→ NRR: 50% (customers churning fast)

Startup B: Boring but solid SaaS
→ 15% MoM growth 📈
→ NRR: 100% (customers stay)

After 36 months?

Startup A: $0 (dead)
Startup B: $1.4M ARR

High growth + low NRR = empty bucket.
Steady growth + solid NRR = compounding machine.

Stop chasing MRR screenshots.
Start obsessing over retention.

No idea who should read this, but here are the TOP 10 errors quietly destroying your SaaS MRR ⤵️
--> most teams obsess over new logos, big enterprise deals, while their revenue leaks in 10 different places.

If growth feels harder every quarter, one of these might be why 🤝
1. Counting trials as a real pipeline
2. Ignoring expansion revenue
