Apple has chosen Google's Gemini to power the next generation of Siri.
Apple announced it will use Google's Gemini models to power the new Siri and future AI features across its 2+ billion devices. This is a multi-year partnership that deepens their alliance and gives Google a massive win in the AI race against OpenAI.

Google's technology already runs Samsung's Galaxy AI, and now they're getting access to Apple's entire ecosystem. Alphabet's valuation jumped to $4 trillion on the news. This raises big questions about Apple's ChatGPT partnership - will OpenAI take a backseat role now?

For Apple, this comes after some AI setbacks and delays with Siri upgrades. For Google, it's proof they're keeping pace with OpenAI's early lead. The deal builds on their existing partnership where Google is the default search engine on Apple devices - a relationship worth tens of billions annually.
