Why I run it

I believe being a solo B2B service provider is one of the best paths to wealth, freedom, and meaningful work. But there is no single right model. Agency, fractional, consulting, productized services. Each has tradeoffs.

I have tested nearly every path myself. Fractional CMO. Productized consulting. Agency-building. Advisory and community. I have grown past $35k per month, torn it down, and rebuilt around what actually creates leverage and energy.

I am not a guru. I am still building. I share what works, what fails, and learn alongside others doing the same.

Former B2B SaaS CMO and founding marketer. Built Lucidpress from launch to acquisition. Tripled revenue as CMO at Eddy. Solo operator for 3+ years. Still advising founders through Prelude Marketing.

Outside of work

Based in Utah with my wife and four kids. Coach youth basketball and soccer. Certified BBQ judge. Usually planning a trip to Hawaii. Building a business that fits around family and life, not the reverse.

I find meaningful connection between the consumer and a product to provide value and dramatically increase sales. My career began in a newsroom where I was a passionate storyteller relating to the consumer in every way. When I discovered that being a successful marketer meant telling a companies story in a compelling way, I knew I had found my lifelong career. People love to make fun of New Year’s resolutions. I actually love them.

So here are my unsolicited goals for 2026:

"Fit body. Calm mind."
- Stoicism, journaling, and a steady dose of Ryan Holiday.

"Close your rings."
- Doesnt work for everyone, but my Apple Watch is basically a tiny accountability coach at this point.

"Do more."
- More leverage. More focus. More impact. Same 24 hours.

"Grow spiritually."
- Literally putting calendar blocks to make sure I connect. 

"Coach and be coached."
- From my kids’ teams to people ahead of me. Fewer fixed beliefs. More forward motion.

"Remove friction."
- Example: driving to the gym. Possibly the worst time-waster in modern history.

Thus the gift my wife and I gave to each other. Half the garage is now a gym.

I stumbled into something that feels… obvious in hindsight.

But I don’t see many people actually doing it.

I finally crossed the OpenAI token threshold where I can:
• Connect Clay
• Use my own API credits
• Stop lighting credits on fire

Here’s the unlock 👇

Instead of blasting 1,000 contacts on LinkedIn, I’m having an agent deep-research every single person before we ever reach out.

Not “signals.”
Not scraped data.
Not third-party guesses.

I mean:
• Their LinkedIn activity
• What Google actually says about them
• Context pulled from multiple LLMs
• Real evidence they match the ICP

Before you say:
“Apollo already does this.”
“Unify has agents.”

Pause.

Are they reading the internet?
Or are they just aggregating purchased data and calling it intelligence?

Because there’s a big difference.

We took 1,000 people and scored them 1–10 on likelihood to engage.

Result?
We’re only contacting 1/6 of the list.

The hope is this will dramatically improve the return on our outreach. I'll post some updates as I get them! 🫡

LinkedIn Growth Hacking for Executives and GTM Teams

Working from Park City today.

Everyone knows there's not much snow.

But this place is still magical! 

Meeting with new people and some clients at the Utah ski and tech summit. 

I used to be here 2-3 times a week with Jon Hammond back in the college days. 

Lots changed... I need to be up here more often.

Even with the low level of snow, where are people skiing in Utah?

People are sleeping on a powerful growth hack on LinkedIn that's totally free.

Its not ads.
Its not cold DMs.
Its not posting more content.

Its LinkedIn Events.

Here is the crazy part 👇

When someone registers for your LinkedIn event, they unlock up to 1,000 personal invites to their first-degree connections.

Those invites show up as real notifications from a real person.
Not an email.
Not a DM.
A decision they have to actively resolve.

That is a fundamentally different level of engagement.

Now imagine this:

• Every attendee invites 25 people
• You incentivize invites with perks, tickets, or giveaways
• Your community becomes your distribution engine
• One event turns into hundreds or thousands of warm invites

And it does not stop there.

You can run:
• In-person events hosted on LinkedIn
• Virtual events native to LinkedIn
• Hybrid events that stream from Zoom or Riverside
• Off-platform experiences that start with registration on LinkedIn

Most teams have no idea this even exists.
Which is why almost no one is using LinkedIn as a real growth channel.

It baffles me when I hear about executives NOT on LinkedIn 

I think its because if you want to actually be intentional with it - its a bit of a black box. 

I just recorded a video comparing LinkedIn’s free search vs. Sales Navigator's search features. 

And the gap is honestly wild. But still worth the cost. I'll explain 👇 

On a free account, you are basically exploring LinkedIn the way most people do,  typing guesses into the search bar and hoping the right people show up. Basically key word search for some alumni friends. 

You get a few filters, ZERO title search (which is a new thing), only 1st and 2nd-degree connections, and almost no real way to intentionally build a list of people you want to reach.

It is usable. But it is not strategic.

Sales Navigator is where LinkedIn actually becomes a growth tool.

You can start with companies, then zoom into the exact people inside them. You can search partial titles like “revenue” but only at VP or C-suite level. 

This is a big one 👉  You can find people who just changed jobs or posted in the last 30 days which usually means they are paying attention, thinking about change, and open to conversations. And will give you a much higher connection rate. 

You can see who follows your company, who you can DM directly, who you should connect with, and where warm introductions already exist in your network.

And lastly - you can search the connections of someone else (that are 2nd or 3rd degree in your audience.) 

If you are looking for intros... there's really no better place to start. 

If you are a founder or exec and you are not spending at least a few minutes a day inside this tool... come on, man! 

Also,  if you already have Sales Navigator, you probably have 10+ two-month free trial codes sitting unused. That is almost $300 of value per code. I am happy to share a few if anyone wants to test it. Or just ask someone you know before signing up. 

LinkedIn is not magic.

But in the hands of someone who actually understands it, it seriously can be close. I just got called a 🪄 magician the other day by Tamar Martirosyan and I'm glowing 🤗.

I think searching for your customer audience on LinkedIn is broken. Or maybe never really worked. 

I've figured out an incredible way to do it... but I'm using less and less native tools. 

Here's a quick follow-up on my agentic approach to audience targeting on LinkedIn. 👇 

Instead of relying on titles, industries, and geographies (the limits of Sales Navigator), we flipped the model. We pulled a massive raw list of potential ICPs, then built an AI agent to actually qualify contacts before outreach - looking for real signals of fit, relevance, and intent.

The result?
The list shrank to ~30% of its original size. On purpose.

Early results are in:

✅  123 of 316 connection requests accepted (38% and still climbing)
🤯 48 replies
🫨 34% response rate

This isn’t about sending more messages.

It’s about sending fewer messages to the right people and and letting agents do the filtering humans shouldn’t be wasting time on.

For example: 
Drop it into Clay
Build logic that actually maps your connections to your ICP
Create an AI agent that ranks every connection by how aligned they are with your ideal customer

All of a sudden you actually have a data asset.

And honestly, this is where it gets fun.

There are dozens of things you can do once you actually own your network data
