Being busy is a privilege.
And I’ve only realised this in the last few months.

People keep asking me,

A good friend (LinkedIn connection) of mine recently messaged me.

"Are you still looking for a job?"

I didn't know how to answer that, but I didn't want to say no. 

"I have a friend who is hiring a writer."

I was grateful, obviously, but this hasn't been the first time. 

I got 7 hiring offers in the last 3 months. 

I was not asked to fill up a form.
I didn't have to prepare for an interview. 

All thanks to the people I met on LinkedIn. 

They trust me because they know me.
They approach me because they've seen me build. 

Opportunities are waiting for you,
You just have to start becoming more 'known'.

There's absolutely no way you won't benefit from building a Personal Brand. 

The only way it won't help is if you don't have it :)

It’s not easy to post consistently, 
Especially when you have more reasons to quit.

For the past couple of days, I’ve been having trouble posting on LinkedIn. 
And no, I’m not running out of content.

I’ve never been more swamped with client work. 
Some days, there’s way too much work than usual.
I don’t realise whether it’s 2 or 3 in the morning. 

Writing and posting content takes time for me. 
Because if I don’t give it that time, I know I’ll sound like everyone else.

But I realised something over time. 
Consistency doesn’t mean perfection. 

“I’m consistent only if I post 6 days a week, every week!”
Sorry, no. 

Some weeks are good. 
Some weeks are really, really bad.

Consistency and discipline have nothing to do with numbers. 

For me, they’re about commitment. 
They’re about doing my best.

Ideally, I want to post 6 days a week. 
But if I fail to do that, I don’t beat myself up. 

Because I know I can pick things up exactly where I left them. 

Consistency isn’t a score. 
It’s a mindset.

On LinkedIn, information does not build authority. 
Founders often end up falling into this trap. 

There's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to inform your audience of your product/service. 
But there's a right way to do it. 

Your audience is already flooded with so much information. 
That's all they see on the internet. 

The best way to push them away is by sharing information. 

Your Website does the same job. 
So does your company page's content. 

So, why not build a connection with them instead?

I may not need your service yet, but I'll follow your journey. 
I may not be interested in your product, but I'll read your story. 
I may not relate to your fundraising, but I'll relate to your ups and downs. 

This is how you create a personal brand that builds trust. 

Share your story.
Talk about your milestones.  
Take us through your journey. 
Share industry insights through your lens. 

That's how you build authority on LinkedIn. 

This may not be an easy process, 
But it's definitely rewarding. 

What's one roadblock you're facing in your LinkedIn journey?

Being an introvert has nothing to do with your LinkedIn Growth. 

Many amazing founders I know, who have built 6-figure agencies on LinkedIn, are introverted. 

They don't go partying. 
They don't have a big circle. 
They don't go for 20 trips a year.

My friend Joyeeta would rather play with her cat than sit in meetings. 
Pujya had a phase where she locked herself up in her room to scale. 

Nothing stopped them from mastering the craft of LinkedIn. 
Definitely not them being introverts.

I read this somewhere and really liked it:

"It's okay if you prefer to be alone. But if you're in a room full of people, you should be able to hold a conversation with anyone."

If you're not posting because you're an introvert, 
You should know you're hiding behind an excuse. 

Introversion is a preference. 
Not a cage.

There were times I wanted to quit LinkedIn and never look back. 
But that would've been a horrible mistake. 

Let's set aside the earnings LinkedIn brings me. 
The real ROI is the people it brought into my life. 

I started posting on LinkedIn in 2022 because I found it fun. 

Little did I know that I'd meet with people who would inspire me every single time we speak. 

No Marketing class taught me GTM better than one phone call with Mythri did. 

I'd get to hear all the nuances of how to run a business from her.

Sherry's clarity and the way she makes people feel heard and special deserve a masterclass. 

If I can name all the awesome people I've met here, I can dedicate one single post every single day just talking about them. 

Time and again, thanks to them, I feel inspired to do better. 

None of them has had it easy. 
They've done a fantastic job facing their hardships head-on. 

Like they say, the company makes the journey easier. 

If you're finding it difficult to build on LinkedIn, 
Connect with people better and smarter than you. 

LinkedIn may not change your life. 
But the people you meet here definitely can.

6 months ago, I lost my job and had no idea what to do.
Today, I have more clients than I can handle. 

I finished my MBA this April, 
Took up the job I got in campus placements, 
And I thought I'll never look back. 

I knew the second I entered the company that I would not stay there. 

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the place. 
But I didn't belong there. 

That's when I took LinkedIn seriously. 

I started posting consistently,
Reached out to my friends to find gigs,
Started outreaching to potential prospects,
And eventually started building revenue. 

I never would've aimed higher if I hadn't lost that job. 

It was not a pleasant experience, 
But it taught me not to be afraid of taking risks. 

And as the age-old saying goes,
"When a door closes, a bigger one opens."

So, if a door has closed for you, 
Believe that there's a bigger one waiting to open. 

Or, believe yourself enough to find that bigger door yourself. 

When was the last time a risky decision rewarded you?

Last night, I had one of the most boring conversations ever. 

A friend of mine sent me two LinkedIn posts. 

She asked, 
"I wrote the first one, and my friend rewrote the same for me as the second one. Which one should I post?"

I scrapped both the ideas. 

The first post was way too long, and I could literally smell ChatGPT.

The second one was too formal and not her tone at all! 

When I gave her feedback, I thought she would never share any more drafts with me. 

A few seconds later, she sent another text. 
"How would you write this post?"

I said, "Exactly. Think about how YOU would write this post."

You don't need to make it appealing.
You don't need to make it sound smart. 
Don't even think about value-add. 

Just write. 

And that's what I'd recommend to everyone struggling with their LinkedIn content. 

Don't listen to these LinkedIn Gurus who talk about formats and frameworks. 

Writing is a very personal process. 

When you sound like yourself, 
And when you are clear on what you want to talk about, 
Your posts will land with impact for sure. 

What's the one block you face when you're writing content on LinkedIn?

People chase productivity, but doing this 1 thing made my life a lot easier:

3 core activities take up most of my time. 
Whether or not I make time for them determines my daily productivity. 

So, I started dividing my day into 3 slots.

1️⃣ The learning slot.

I had to dedicate a slot for this purely to upskill.

"I'll do it once I'm done working" is just an excuse.

So, every morning, I sit for at least an hour to learn something. 

2️⃣ The research slot.

This is the most frustrating slot. 

I don't enjoy research, but it's necessary. 

So, I begin my productive hours with this slot. 

This usually goes on till late in the afternoon. 
No work, no learning, only research. 

3️⃣ The output slot. 

Having done the research right, my job becomes a lot easier. 

Be it writing content for my clients, 
Exploring different ideas and thoughts, 
Or building content calendars and editing drafts...

The actual output production happens in the evening.

I find the idea of fixing hours impractical.

I usually adjust the timing based on my workload. 

Some days, research takes 3-4 hours, and the work gets done in an hour. 
And on some other days, it's the opposite. 

Having work slots instead of time slots has given me flexibility. 

What do you think about this idea?

"Just take a break!" is the most stupid advice you can give to someone who is burnt out. 

Most people don't need breaks. 
They need to fix their lifestyles. 

Let me tell you the story of a friend of mine. 

He used to work 12 hours a day and sleep 4 hours every night.

He would wake up every morning to disturbing alarm sounds. 
His diet was a mess, and so were his eating timings. 

I forced him to take a break. 
Literally called his family and pushed him on a trip. 

He spent 7 days away from all his devices. 

I felt like I made a difference in his life. 
Except... I didn't. 

A month later, he was hospitalised. 
Though it was nothing serious, his body had had enough. 

Once the trip was over, he went back to his same old toxic routine.
The same 12-hour work days, the same 4 hours of sleep. 

He never needed a break. 
He needed to fix his lifestyle. 
His sleep schedule, his eating habits... everything. 

I'm not saying taking a break is a bad idea. 
But no number of breaks can fix a broken lifestyle.

So, take a step back and reflect on how you're living. 

Are you sure your routine is sustainable?
Or is it warning you to slow down?

In my B-School, I wasn't the most confident guy. 

I wasn't into sports. 
I would only play table tennis and pool with my friends occasionally. 

I wasn't in the placecom or any corporate committee. 
I didn't play the guitar or sing really well.

There was absolutely no reason for me to be the popular guy. 
It was just not me. 

But one fine day, the moment I entered the classroom, everyone started asking me what I do on LinkedIn. 

Turns out, I was absent the other day, and one of my professors praised me in front of the whole class. 

She had been following me and my content on LinkedIn. 
Without my knowing, I became 'The LinkedIn Guy' in my college. 

People were surprised when I told them I earn money through LinkedIn. 

It somehow became my USP, 
Though later in life, it became my lifeline. 

Whether you're in undergrad or postgrad, 
Whether you're a student or an entrepreneur,
Whether you're a professional or a hustler,

A personal brand can give you a professional boost like nothing else.

If you're seeing no leads despite posting consistently, this is what you might be doing wrong:

"Post daily, and your pipeline will fill up" is a myth. 
Which is why most people give up posting altogether. 

But under the name of consistency, this is what you're doing:

1️⃣ You talk about everything under the sun. 

You're posting a motivational quote one day.
The next day, you share a milestone in your journey.
And after that, it's another lesson about growth. 

Talking about everything will bring everybody yet nobody.

2️⃣ You stuff people with information. 

You talk about product features available on the Website. 
You ensure 2-3 hiring posts go out every week.  
You post about the latest event you were in and whom you met.

It doesn't seem like you're posting to build trust for your potential buyer 

3️⃣ Your DMs are dead. 

You're connecting with relevant ICP every week, 
But you're not initiating a conversation with them in the DMs. 

Your buyer could be just one simple conversation away. 

How do you fix these?

Stick to 3 solid content pillars that can build trust and deliver a clear message to your buyer. 

→ Focus on Storytelling

Once you've narrowed down your content, make people resonate with you.
Share your journey, expertise, and case studies.

Your ICP might be a single push away from buying from you. DMs are the best place to convert warm leads. 

Consistency is just the first step. 
Your pipeline depends on what you do after.

Quick results. 

Recently, I've had a call with a Founder. 

We discussed how Personal Branding could help his business. 
A few days after our call, I followed up. 

"We want lead generation and more direct results."
This was his response. 

There's nothing wrong with that approach. 
But without building trust first, lead gen becomes a task. 

As you - 
Optimise your profile, 
Position yourself correctly, 
Keep posting content that clicks, 
Connect with relevant folks and your ICP, 
And establish thought leadership in your industry, 

Your personal brand will inevitably begin to grow. 

People will know you for who YOU are. 
They'll see you for how YOU operate. 
They'll know you for what YOU stand for. 

I love working with people who let the process take time. 
They're ready to invest, collaborate, and believe in results that compound over time. 

If you want quick results, 
LinkedIn is not the right platform for you.

I find it very surprising when a Founder says, "I don't know what to post."

One time, I was having coffee with a friend. 
I told him that my life was pretty boring. 

He looked at me as if I had said something criminal. 

He later went on to say everything good in my life:
Gym, books, writing, LinkedIn, friends, etc. 
He was right. 

Then he went on to crib about his own. 
He has a startup. 

Not enough sleep, 
The days of highs and lows,
The struggle to find investors, 
His family's perception...

I returned him the look he gave me earlier. 
His life was obviously more interesting and busier than mine. 

He was just like those Founders who say they have no idea what to talk about. 

While building something, 
You don't have the luxury to escape an interesting life. 

You might have nothing else going on. 
But you can always talk about everything that's going on. 

You can build in public. 
Talk about your startup breakthroughs. 
Share what it feels like to be in your shows. 

As a Founder, you can never run out of content. 

So, if content is not the problem, what's stopping you from posting on LinkedIn?

8 out of 10 founders I see on LinkedIn have a disastrous approach to sales, and they don't even realise it.

Just think about how you come to trust a brand. 

What's the toothpaste you use? 
How did you end up buying your earphones?
Which brand name strikes you when I say 'instant noodles'?

How did you pick up one particular brand/product?

A simple reason. 
They built trust by becoming visible. 

You've seen these brands often. 
Be it on television, on social media, or just in the stores you visit. 

Now think about this:
I show up at your doorstep randomly and say, "Hey, here's a toothpaste called 'whiteeth' that can make your teeth shine like milk!"

If you hate salespeople, you'd shut the door in my face. 
If you are a polite person, you'd say, "Sorry, I've never heard of it."

Unless you really know me, you won't even consider trying it out. 

Founders are doing the same thing today. 
They're not building trust through visibility, but are expecting sales.

Their first question is,
"How many leads can you get me?" 
None. 

I mean, nobody even knows you out there. 
Your LinkedIn profile is a ghost town. 

The last time you posted was 3 months ago,
And it was another funding post. 

Some founders have not even updated their 'founder' status. 
And they expect to be welcomed by their ICP with open arms. 

It's practically impossible. 

The right approach first builds trust. 
And this doesn't happen overnight.

It takes months. 

When people see you and your work, 
They'll know you before you go to them.

Sometimes, they come to you on their own. 

And for this to happen, you'll have to show up and build a personal brand. 

If you treat trust as your second priority, 
You'll end up becoming a second priority to your ICP.

I went ahead and hired a boss yesterday. 
(Not a joke or a clickbait here) 

The last couple of months have not been easy for me because I've been managing multiple engagements.

I would feel overwhelmed and exhausted on most days.

There were instances when I messed up big time. 
Having too many things to do and no team can get really tough. 

When I was almost about to crack, 
One of my undergrad juniors approached me on Instagram. 
"Do you think you need an assistant?"

I've never even met her in person, but she had been following my story for months. 

I wanted to decline politely, telling her that I was fine, but I was not. 
My schedule was suffocating, and I had no scope to scale. 

So, I hired her. 
Gave her access to my calendar and asked her to redo it. 

Not only did she do that, but she also became my supervisor. 
(I am so happy she was never my invigilator during exams)

But I had absolutely no idea that I needed this.

5 ChatGPT mistakes that kill your LinkedIn posts (and how to fix them):


I use ChatGPT almost every day for research, content ideas, and sometimes, for writing too.

But if you use it too, you already know that its posts are far from 'impactful'. 

These are the 5 mistakes and how you can change them👇

1️⃣ Hallucinations

When ChatGPT lacks enough context/data, it starts making things up.

That’s why your post might say, 
"LinkedIn has 900 million daily active users.”
(Spoiler: It doesn’t.)

Fix: Always feed it your data, stories, and intent before you ask it to write.

2️⃣ Vagueness

It often writes like it’s afraid to offend anyone.
You’ll get a post that sounds smooth but leaves the reader empty.

“Consistency is the key to success.”
 Cool, but what kind of consistency? Doing what? How often?

Fix: Identify vague lines and sharpen them with specifics or examples.

3️⃣ Broken Flow

ChatGPT reads between the lines too much and sometimes skips to add what connects them.

“Writing on LinkedIn builds trust.
 
This is how you can start being authentic.”

Wait, what?

Fix: Ask it to keep the narrative flow intact from one idea to the next.

4️⃣ Repetition

You’ll find similar sentences dressed in different words.

At the beginning of the post, you see:
“Authenticity builds trust."

And again at the end, it says:
"Trust is built through authenticity.”

Fix: Read the draft, cut every duplicate thought, and keep only what sounds impactful.

5️⃣ Overextended Thoughts

It loves stretching to a point where the sentences become inaccurate or unnecessary.

“And that’s when I realized that creating content is not just about consistency, it's about adding consistency to your creativity, which takes effort.”

Nope. Doesn't make sense. 

Fix: Read it aloud. If you lose interest halfway, cut it there.

AI is like an intern at work. 
It generates basic output. 

It takes you to turn it into something readable.
