Belgium's marketing industry has a seniority problem. 

And it's why nobody can fill vacancies.

Here's what's actually happening:
The Broken Ladder

Junior marketer joins agency → Gets promoted after 2 years because "that's how long it takes" → Now they're "medior" but never had a senior actually teaching them → Realizes they're underpaid (compared to "peers?", who also have an inflated title?) → Goes freelance → Struggles because they never learned the fundamentals → Blames the industry (or Belgian Market)

Meanwhile, the actual seniors? They've been pushed into account management and project coordination. No time to mentor. No bandwidth to do the hands-on work that would show juniors what "good" actually looks like.

The Real Issues:
🔴 Promotions based on tenure, not performance or capability
🔴 "5 years experience" that's really 1 year repeated 5 times
🔴 Juniors learning from mediors who learned from... other mediors
🔴 Zero perspective on what market-rate compensation actually means
🔴 Agencies losing mediors to freelancing before they're ready (burning bridges on the way out, taking (ex-)clients with them)
🔴 Seniors doing everything except the senior work

The Result?
- Companies can't find "experienced" marketers because we stopped creating them. We're churning out title inflation instead of actual expertise.

- A medior with 3-4 years who's never been guided by someone with 10+ years of hands-on experience isn't a medior. They're a junior with confidence and a salary expectation problem.

- A Belgian Market that "doesn't believe in marketing anymore" as they've had different teams giving it a shot but never seeing the actual results to feel the effect and feed their growth.

What Would Fix This:
- Promote based on demonstrable skills, not calendar years
- Keep seniors doing senior work (strategy, execution, mentoring)
- Turn project managers into expertise led key account managers
- Create real growth paths where juniors spend 3-4 years actually learning
- Stop the title inflation arms race
- Build cultures where staying and learning is more attractive than jumping ship

The talent is there. The development pipeline is broken.

And until we fix it, we'll keep complaining about "impossible to fill" vacancies while wondering why the 26-year-old "Marketing Manager" can't actually manage marketing.

Here’s what I’ve learned about working with agencies: if you want results fast, skip the army of juniors.

Last year, Digiti ( hiring 🚀  )  called me in for a quick favour.
One project, maybe two.

Fast forward twelve months and I’m supporting almost every marketing track they’ve got.

It’s not just about clocking hours or stacking more people.
With a lean senior team, everything moves at a different pace:
- Less noise
- Fewer meetings
- No hand-holding

Just align, launch, optimise, repeat.

The familiar faces from my junior days made it easy to settle, but what really made the work fun was how quickly things moved.
Real results in weeks, not months.
Campaigns live.
Conversions up.
Teams locked in.

Adding people doesn’t always mean you’ll get more done.
Often, it means more managing and less progress.

Derek let the seniors lead.
The proof’s there in every new case on the Digiti site.

That’s all it took.

I am a grower, not a shower.

But that is about to change...

For years, I’ve been the guy behind the numbers.
Dashboards over spotlights.
Scaling results instead of talking about them.

Quietly:
 • Turning ad budgets into pipelines
 • Killing vanity metrics with ruthless result-drivers
 • Building systems that keep working when I log off
 • Saying “no” (still learning) and “this scales” (often)

Not flashy.
Not loud.
Just... effective.

But here’s the thing:
Growth compounds faster when you stop hiding the work.

So this year, I’m changing one thing.

📌 New Year’s resolution:
I’m posting on LinkedIn at least 100 times this year.

Not to chase likes.
Not to build a “personal brand™”.
But to be more visible about:
 • What actually moves revenue
 • What breaks when companies “scale too fast”
 • What most teams think is strategy (and isn’t)
 • What happens when performance, creativity and discipline finally align

Still a grower.
Still allergic to bullshit.
Just done pretending results speak for themselves in a noisy feed.

So, how are you planning to post so much this year?

I've got a system.

First, I crafted content pillars that truly reflect what I stand for, what growth and performance marketing should be all about.

After that I asked AI to crate draft examples of each pillar.
Those posts became my templates within each pillar & I kept creating more in the same style, based on what worked for me on LinkedIn last year.

I then used AI (ChatGPT, Grok & Claude) to write and/or rewrite posts based on what I created and on what has worked in for me in 2025.

The result? Almost all my posts for the first quarter are now done and scheduled.
And the best part? It took me about a little under 3 hours for an entire quarter of output.

Yes, 3 hours to map out, draft, and schedule a quarter's worth of content.
No endless hours creating, wondering, stressing.

Efficiency is the game changer.

If you're not leveraging tools like AI to streamline your content process, you're leaving time and impact on the table.

Don't blast AI with prompts for each post.
Think. Strategise. Plan. Delegate.
