Ho appena lanciato un esperimento che in molte aziende sembrerebbe folle: una settimana senza code review obbligatorie.

Totale responsabilità individuale. Zero revisioni di default. Ship autonomously.

E prima che mi arrivino i commenti degli horrified tech lead: sì, so cosa sto facendo.

La scorsa settimana abbiamo fatto un sondaggio sulla Developer Experience in Voxloud. 100% di risposta. Un grazie enorme a 🌀 Luca Rossi per la guidance e per la sua fantastica community di Refactoring che mi ha ispirato a farlo.

I risultati? Illuminanti.

L'adozione AI è alta (73% del team usa almeno un tool), ma ancora immatura in termini di gestione del contesto. Debugging e context switching sono i pain point principali. Ma il vero elefante nella stanza è emerso chiarissimo: le code review sono uno dei bottleneck più grossi.
E qui parte la domanda che mi sono fatto.

È un problema strutturale o è un problema mentale?

Ovvero: stiamo aspettando il review degli altri perché è davvero necessario, o perché ci siamo abituati a non sentirci safe nel shippare finché qualcun altro non ci dà l'ok?

Perché alla fine nei risultati del sondaggio ho visto anche l'altro lato della medaglia. Ho sviluppatori che in 7 giorni chiudono 9 task usando Claude Code per migrazioni Angular. Gente che esprime zero lamentele sul workflow. Pattern di successo chiarissimi: task ben definiti, uso efficace dell'AI, zero context switching.

Quindi eccoci qui.

Una settimana di esperimento. Ognuno si auto-rivede il codice. Ognuno shippa in autonomia. Ognuno si prende la responsabilità dell'outcome.

Sì, qualcosa si romperà. Quasi sicuramente.

E va bene così. Facciamo rollback. Nessuno muore. Zero blame, zero drammi. Fa parte del processo.

Certo, ci sarà spazio per emergency review quando qualcosa è davvero critico. Ma devono essere l'eccezione, non il default.

A fine settimana analizzeremo: velocity, qualità, stress level, cosa è migliorato e cosa no.

Poi decidiamo insieme cosa tenere, cosa aggiustare, cosa scartare.

Credo fermamente che ogni persona nel team sia capace di portare avanti i propri task end-to-end. E se non lo credessi, non li avrei nel team.

Il punto non è eliminare le code review per sempre. Il punto è capire se stiamo usando le code review come strumento o come stampella.

E l'unico modo per capirlo è togliere la stampella per una settimana e vedere cosa succede.

"Gab, abbiamo un problema. Il numero WhatsApp è passato in giallo. Lunedì parte il lancio più importante dell'anno. 15.000 contatti. Cosa facciamo?"

Classico caso di chi vuole bruciare tutte le tappe.

Numero nuovo, zero warm-up, direttamente a 15.000 messaggi. Meta non perdona. Se ti muovi così, non è questione di SE ti bannano, ma di QUANDO.

Gli ho fatto due domande secche.

1) "Hai scaldato il numero? Hai fatto i passaggi da 1.000, 2.000, 5.000 messaggi nei giorni precedenti?"
Silenzio.
2) "I contatti hanno dato l'opt-in specifico per WhatsApp? Sono sicuri di voler ricevere comunicazioni da te su questo canale?"

Altro silenzio.

Ecco il punto. WhatsApp Business API è uno strumento incredibile, ma ha delle regole precise. Non puoi pensare di trattarlo come un megafono per fare broadcast massivi su liste fredde.

Meta ti osserva. Analizza il tasso di risposta, le segnalazioni, i blocchi. Se sbagli il timing o il target, il tuo quality rating crolla. E quando sei in rosso, non solo il tuo limite messaggi si riduce drasticamente, ma rischi il ban definitivo.

Il problema è che la maggior parte delle aziende scopre queste regole il giorno prima del lancio.

Gli ho detto la verità: "Il numero WhatsApp è compromesso. Ma il lancio non è perso."

La soluzione? SMS.
Non come piano B di emergenza. Come strumento strategico da affiancare sempre a WhatsApp.

Gli SMS non hanno quality rating. Non hanno opt-in obbligatori con template approvati. Non hanno finestre di 24 ore. Invii e il messaggio arriva. Punto.

Costa di più? Sì. Ma se hai un lancio con ROI definito e 15.000 contatti che DEVONO ricevere il messaggio, gli SMS ti salvano la vita.

Il cliente ha fatto così: ha usato gli SMS per il lancio immediato e nel frattempo ha iniziato il warm-up serio del numero WhatsApp per le campagne future.

Risultato? Lancio completato senza perdere un solo contatto.
Numero WhatsApp recuperato in tre settimane.

La regola è semplice.
WhatsApp è fantastico per conversazioni uno-a-uno, engagement alto, cataloghi interattivi. Ma quando devi fare volume su liste che non sono ancora scaldate o non hai la certezza assoluta dell'opt-in, gli SMS sono lo strumento che ti copre le spalle.

Gli SMS non sostituiscono WhatsApp. Li affiancano. E ti proteggono dal rischio di bruciarti mesi di lavoro per un lancio fatto male.

Nella tua azienda hai già una strategia di backup per le campagne massive? O stai ancora rischiando tutto su un solo canale?

Ho caricato un pdf di una documentazione API su Claude ricevendo un errore perché il file contiene troppe immagini e il contesto è troppo grande. Su Chatgpt tutto alla grande, invece, vi è mai capitato? 55 pagine di pdf tecnico su API non mi sembra questa cosa così assurda 😐
