Everyone talks about strategy. But no one talks about what actually gets people to notice you here.

So here’s what’s worked for me and my clients 👇

1. Stop writing for approval.
Half of LinkedIn sounds like a college essay.
When you write like a person, people actually read.

2. Talk about your work more.
You think you’re repeating yourself.
They’re hearing it for the first time.

3. Post when it feels cringe.
That’s usually the one that lands best.
Because it feels honest.

4. Don’t copy what worked for someone else.
It worked for them because it sounded like them.
Make it sound like you.

5. Show, don’t claim.
Saying you’re an expert is boring.
Stories do the job better.

If you want to build authority here, stop aiming for perfect. Start aiming for presence.

How I finally got storytelling right

For the longest time, I made it too complicated.

I thought storytelling meant crafting perfect hooks, adding drama, or writing like a novelist.

It wasn’t.

It was about something much simpler:
making people feel what I felt.

The best stories don’t summarize.
They zoom into the moment.

They make you see what I saw. Feel what I felt.
And remember what I learned.

When I understood that, everything changed.

My posts stopped sounding “smart.”
They started sounding real.

So here’s what I now keep in mind 👇

1. Say where you are. People instantly picture it.
2. Say what you’re doing. It keeps the story moving.
3. Say what you’re thinking. That’s where you connect.
4. Say how you’re feeling. That’s what makes it real.
5. Say what was said. That’s what makes it human.

Storytelling isn’t about making things bigger.
It’s about making them closer.
