I grew up on a working-class estate surrounded by three of London’s wealthiest postcodes - Regents Park, Marylebone, and St John’s Wood.

From an early age, I saw how access to capital determined opportunity.
It shaped who had freedom, who built, and who got left behind.
That observation became an obsession - understanding how money flows, and how to help more people access it with confidence.

“I am many things and yet I am nothing.”

Many of you know me as Sudhir or Sid Singh, I have spent the best part of two decades working in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Fundraising, Partnerships and Networking.

Having studied Advertising and copywriting I went onto work several jobs, in several niches and became a growth consultant in 2004. Business strategy and creating processes and tools for startups is work I have really come to enjoy, having done it so many times, I know what doesn’t work!

I mainly work with early stage startups as a one stop shop, where I help to set up their sales and marketing functions and processes for growth. Already funded? Let's talk about scaling.

I have been Sales Director for a Real Estate Company for 6 years managing direct reports and providing sales training globally and client seminars, interviews and exhibition sales.
B2B, B2C, B2B2C, Enterprise, Outbound and Inbound, building an agent network and even field sales, I have sold both £45 memberships and £1.4 Million pound sites.

In 2010 I went onto provide services to a Radio station and then a Training company setting up an outbound centre. From 2012 to 2018 I worked as a broker in the square mile raising funds for companies that sold shares, projects, bonds, tech & commodities.

I’ve started several companies over the years and helped others to grow and scale.
Fun brands like “Let’s Get Weddy” allowed me to create a wedding blog and build up a tech platform from scratch and “Tax Shavings” allowed me to do a lot of public speaking. 
I am not a technical founder, but I know who to bring in to make things happen!

Having set up my own Marketing agency in 2018, I continued to provide services like web design, social media management, copywriting and sales training and I still do 6 years on.

In 2018 I had a life changing experience and got to see how the CJS actually works.

I write about Positive mindset, Sales, Marketing and occasionally give a shameless plug for a company I may be working with or a cause I believe in, usually I just share life lessons and my perspective.

Since 2023 I work with those who make a social impact and help charities and companies that are all about giving back to those who are disadvantaged or marginalised.

In 2024 I co-founded and project managed the delivery of an app that offers wrap around support and the MVP is now live!

This weekend I took my son to visit two Uni’s - Open days designed for students to work out if the campus and University is the best option for them for the next few years.


This round trip that meant we set off at at just after 7am concluded just after midnight with a stop off to refuel and meet with good friends.


But this post is not about my weekend, it’s about a observation, a reflection and a vision.


Today I work with people in the intersection of re-entry and re-integration but they have little support, impact data sits in silos and there are no clear pathways, agency or direction.


The problem is not a lack of services, it’s fragmentation.


Imagine if they knew where they could come and get access to all the answers they needed.


An “open day” where all the options are clearly laid out with representatives from all the departments they may need to settle in-


Housing
Coping
Relationships
Wellbeing
Learning
Employment 


I’d love to create a physical place where people with lived experience and agencies can come together and people could come to open days to learn more.

If done right, people would have themselves out of a job, so one can only conclude that it’s a business to warehouse humans.

Business as usual

If recidivism were truly the enemy, it wouldn’t be so profitable.

The system tells the public it wants people to succeed after release. It talks about rehabilitation, reentry, second chances. But its incentives tell a different story. A story where failure is not a flaw—it’s a feature.

Every return to prison keeps beds full. Every violation sustains budgets. Every revoked release justifies expansion. When success means fewer incarcerated people, and failure means financial stability, which outcome do you think quietly wins?

If reducing recidivism were the priority, family connection would be protected, not restricted. Education would be consistent, not optional. Mental health care would be treatment, not triage. Reentry would begin on day one, not the day someone is pushed out with a trash bag and a bus ticket.

Instead, families are treated like privileges. Phone calls are priced. Visits are canceled. Communication is throttled. Stability is disrupted. Then the same system turns around and blames individuals for struggling after release.

That’s not accountability. That’s design.

Recidivism is blamed on “bad choices,” while the conditions that produce those choices remain untouched. Trauma is ignored. Isolation is normalized. Survival skills learned inside are punished outside. And when someone returns, the system nods knowingly, as if to say: See? We were right.

But right about what?

A system that truly wanted people to succeed would measure success by how many never come back. This one measures success by how many do.

Recidivism is devastating for families. It’s catastrophic for children. It’s a revolving door of hope and heartbreak. But for the machine, it’s predictable. Reliable. Fundable.

And that’s the part no one wants to say out loud.

Because if recidivism were solved, too many people would be out of work.
