It started as a simplistic WordPress website showcasing our portfolio of courses. With time, our team started growing and we developed more complex software solutions until we launched our own learning management system and developed comprehensive in-house marketing expertise.

We are killing all tools in Team-GPT.

At least outside the chat.

Over the past few months we built 15-20 different tools, which had custom and user-friendly UI, allowing users to get some jobs done faster. 


The interesting finding?

Everyone wants to chat.
Everything will happen inside the chat. 
Every tool. Every automation. Every interaction. 

It's just easiest for people.

The future is chat and that's weird.

Don't put GPT in your product name. 

A bit more than 2 years ago, my co-founder Ilko sent a message in Slack:

Ilko: What about 'team gpt'. It's exactly what we do!
Me: Is .com available?
Ilko: With a dash... team-gpt (.) com is only $10!
Me: Not that bad... Better have the dot com domain, even if it's with a dash. 
 
The one without a dash -> teamgpt(.)com was some sort of gym training program. Later they stopped paying it, GoDaddy scooped, and is now selling for $120,000.

In reality this domain costs $0. 
As should every domain with GPT inside of it.

Because OpenAI doesn't want or allow anyone to have GPT in their name.

If you are not following- they send us an angry letter that we should change our name.

It was okay for some time in 2023. 
Today I'd definitely recommend to avoid using GPT in the name.

Meta spent a gazillion dollars poaching AI talent.
And it’s worth it.

For a top 5 in the world company, AI is really a matter of survival. 

The biggest companies in the world are tech companies. 

The next biggest will be AI companies. 
To stay in top 5, Meta has no other choice.

Oh, and the Metaverse will probably come one day.

But AI is too important.

ChatGPT to AI is what Pampers is for diapers. 
It's the mainstream product which is now synonymous with the technology. 

ChatGPT is an amazing product. And 90-95% consumers using basic chat capabilities use their product. In fact, most people haven't heard of other GenAI products! 


But OpenAI doesn't have the best models. 
Neither the fastest. 
Nor the smartest. 

For people really building stuff with AI it is:

1. Claude
2. Gemini
3. GPT

in that order.

By the time you read this, things may have changed... that's how fast AI is moving nowadays.

We give job candidates a written task, which they have to complete. Usually takes them 2-4 hours. Shows a lot of motivation to get the job + actual expertise. 

No one starts at Team-GPT, without having completed a task of some sort. 

I cannot make a decision otherwise. 

But with this information 
+ 5-mins is enough to assess cultural fit and motivation- for what reasons does this person want to work at the company.

Lovable reached:
- $1M in 1 week
- $10M in 2 months
- $100M in 9 months

In reality, they had been building the product under the name GPT Engineer for 1.5 years before launching under the name Lovable. 


We are rebranding Team-GPT. 

I have to decide what to do with my LinkedIn profile.

Should I:

1. Change my LinkedIn to 'rip Team-GPT', starting new project and then hit $1M ARR in 1 day and say it's the fastest growing company ever (Lovable playbook)

2. Change my LinkedIn to 'Team-GPT is still going', starting new project, then hit $1M ARR in 1 day and say it's the fastest growing company and be a 'serial entrepeneur' simultaneously building multiple unicorns 

3. Completely erase Team-GPT from my LinkedIn by changing to the new name

4. Put new name and place (prev. Team-GPT) or smth? 


I don't like any of these but will have to decide by 17 Nov.

Top contributors (in terms of commits) last week in Team-GPT.

5 different AIs have done a bunch. 

# commits doesn't mean anything (I have many commits last week but have created more work for others than have saved). But having AI contribute to the codebase meaningfully without a humans guiding it is crazy. But is happening! Not all of these are successful. But enough were.

And the humans?
They are mostly coding with AI, of course. 

Real question is:
How many contributions were written 100% by a human last week in Team-GPT? 

~10 out of 300.

How can a small company become more productive and competitive thanks to AI?

Just use it- it’s this simple.
So many others are not using it that you will already be ahead if you start today.

In reality, it is extremely hard to figure out adoption and roll it out in your company. Based on our 60K+ users and their adoption patterns, we’ve created an adoption methodology, have numerious webinars, YouTube videos, LinkedIn posts what not.

I've been thinking about my recent posts calling companies with negative ROI on AI 'stupid'.

I was wrong.

Not about AI's value. That's real. 
AI tools are cheap, powerful, and accessible to any company.

But I was wrong to blame the people struggling to adopt AI. 


The truth is: AI adoption is genuinely hard.

Not because people are incompetent, but because:

- Most AI tools are built for individuals, not teams
- There's no proven playbook for organizational adoption
- The hype cycle has created unrealistic expectations
- Nobody teaches you how to actually implement this stuff


If your company is struggling with AI ROI, you're in the majority and it's not your fault.

But it is fixable.

The companies seeing real results aren't smarter. They just have:

- A clear adoption strategy
- The right collaboration infrastructure
- Team-wide training (not just individual experimentation)


I'll keep sharing what actually works for AI adoption.

With AI software costing $25/m, I cannot imagine how stupid you need to be about your AI adoption to not make $25 in gains per month. 

Sure. 
It can be negative when your bonus depends on spending $5M on fine-tuning an old model on suboptimal chips, executed by mediocre talent, so your CEO can tell the board you are heavily investing in AI.

Are governments adopting AI and will they?

They will be last to adopt.

Naturally, the order is:
1. Consumers
2. Small and medium businesses
3. Educational institutions
4. Enterprise
5. Government

We (AI companies) should keep this in mind.

While people should know that unless 8/10 people you know are using AI, your Alma Mater, and your employer are using AI... it’s not yet time for your gov to do so. 

At least not meaningfully.

If I could start an AI business today, what would it be?

Productizing some specialized AI agent for a big use case is top of my mind. 

But products are hard.

Service-wise these 2 have lots of potential:
1. Teaching, educating, helping companies adopt AI
2. Building custom AI workflows and agents (as a service, e.g. using n8n)

I’d probably default to the second one as the opportunity is much bigger.

If you start this today, you’d be good for the next 15-20 years.
