I set up Wilkes Wood in 2018 with my best friend, James.

James is a truly great creative and, whilst working as a freelance marketer, I frequently had reason to collaborate with him on projects. Eventually, we realised we should join forces officially, and Wilkes Wood was born.

My role is split between strategy and project management, helping to bring clarity to thinking and ensuring that resources are always being utilised in the most effective way.

I hold an MSc in Data Analytics and Digital Marketing - something I decided to embark on upon our second year of business. 

Despite the obvious furthering of my understanding of data and how best to draw insights from analytics, the most critical learning journey from this course was around strategic thinking.

This has had a profound impact on nearly every element of both my professional and personal life. I was lucky enough to be tutored by some truly amazing individuals like Dr David Norris, who have helped me reframe how I approach problem-solving, balancing long-term thinking with data-led action and constant, iterative improvement.

Outside of my professional activities, I am an avid photographer, shooting mostly on analogue cameras. This helps me slow down a little and create with more intention.

Having grown up in the heart of the Peak District, I am a big outdoors enthusiast, taking great joy in hiking, camping and exploring whenever my schedule allows. 

Aside from these, I’m incredibly fond of cooking, creative writing, and literature. All of these interests sort of morph and meld together.

I am driven by purpose, opportunities to learn, and also by the diverse array of people I get to encounter through my work and hobbies. 

I live in Sheffield with Amelia, my wonderful partner of many years, and Aubrey, our slightly boring yet increasingly large tortoise.

The Sheffield Chamber of Commerce is a membership organisation created to support, connect and grow local businesses across the city region. 

Providing support in all areas of business development, marketing, international trade and at a senior level in terms of policy and representation ensuring representation of member’s views and ensuring that the chamber is at the forefront of developments across the city region.

My key responsibilities included but were not limited to the management of approx. 450 key accounts including blue chip corporate and multinational businesses. 
•	Marketing Chamber commercial services 
•	Recruitment of new member businesses to the Chamber
•	On-site analysis of client training needs and sale of appropriate Chamber training packages
•	Dealing with wide ranging business-related queries and signposting customers to further support organisations
•	Facilitating the networking of Chamber members by attending and hosting events

•	Regular contact with companies of a variety of sizes across all sectors of business

Account Manager

Plusnet Business

Reporting directly to the Head of business, my key responsibilities included but were not limited to the management of Plusnet corporate customer accounts, sales management for the Plusnet Indirect channel and acquisition of new corporate accounts. Directly responsible for over 600 Partners and 250+ Dealers, including blue chip corporate, and their 40,000+ broadband customers.

I was responsible for driving sales, acquisition and net adds against company forecasts and budgets, this is achieved through meet and greets with new clients, selling and up selling of products/services with existing clients.

I acted as a Primary point of contact for Plusnet’s Major Clients and customers, accountable for negotiation and implementation of effective commercials & incentives aligned to strategic business objectives to deliver business priorities. 

Regularly managed and took ownership of service affecting problems or issues by liaising with the Business Service Delivery Manager, Business Support Team, Support team managers and Head of Business to ensure Major Client Product Lines and their Customer’s expectations are managed at all times during service affecting problems. This is also managed by holding regular sales & service reviews with clients in line with the Service Delivery Framework.
