Real fluency looks more like:
Can you adapt when the tool changes?
Can you think in systems?
Can you spot a problem, then build a path to solve it?

The bar is moving fast.
And most interview loops are not designed for it.

I’ve always wished I could DJ.

I can make a hell of a playlist.
But I could never crack the “one song into the next” thing on streaming services.
It always felt close, but not real.

So I did what I do now.
I used AI as a teacher.

OpenAI taught me how to count beats.
And what to actually buy.
Which led to a very specific rabbit hole.

Apparently I needed used headphones.
That stopped being produced 6 years ago.
In Ireland.
(That detail alone should tell you how my brain works.)

Perplexity AI sent me down the YouTube path.
I watched the tutorials.
I took notes.
I got way too confident.

Then I ran out to Facebook Marketplace.
And grabbed a used DJ controller.
Because of course I did.

I was ready.
Until I hit the wall nobody talks about.

Getting actual music I own to play with.
Because who OWNS music in 2026.

Then AI stepped in again and saved the day, but not the way I expected.
Not with a prompt.
With a person.

I got introduced to Jackson Mullins.
By none other than introduction master Jeremy A. Lyons Lyons.

His note was simple:
“You two should meet. I think you’ll push each other with the right questions.”
Jeremy was right.

Jackson and I aligned on a ton, especially TA and the human plus AI convergence stuff.
But the real unlock was the other half of the convo.

He told me I needed to move from Serato to Rekordbox.
Because of Spotify connectivity.

That was it.
One sentence.
And suddenly the whole thing worked.

This is what community is.
This is what connections do.

Not all networking is about career moves.
Or getting 10 more followers.
Or collecting logos.

Sometimes you get a LinkedIn intro.

And it leads to you making your teenage daughters listen to you practice transitions and pretending your'e on stage Home Base in Oakland. (IYKYK)
