Software Engineer II

-Implemented UI designs and layouts from initial design till completion, ensuring the responsive design and cross-browser compatibility using ReactJS and CSS.  

-Implementation of APIs to extend services provided by the marketplace. Moved critical API calls from the client side to the server side for security purposes. 

-Improving user experience by caching static resources such as images, fonts, and CSS files by using a service worker. Enabling the browser to serve these resources instantly on repeated site visits and fewer API requests. 

-Significantly improved the website's load time and performance by implementing code splitting, lazy loading components, using webP images, GZIP compression, and removing unnecessary dependencies. As a result, the load time dropped from 15 seconds to under 5 seconds, the JavaScript bundle size decreased from almost 1MB to around 370KB, and the Google Page Insights Score improved from under 15 to between 60 and 70.

-Took Google PageSpeed Insights score to 90+ for all web pages in the site's blog section from a previous score of under 70 by implementing server-side rendering using NextJS, parallel fetch calls, and compressing images according to the viewport.  

-Added the functionality of sending images and PDFs in the marketplace's chat system. Enabling customers and tour operators to exchange critical information quickly. 

-Review and test team members' code and refactor outdated sections of the codebase by making them backward compatible. 

-Working with Quality Assurance to ensure the proper testing of new features and address any issues that may arise.

-Led a team of three people and implemented various screens, data models, and state management logic in the marketplace app using Flutter. 

-Taking responsibility for integrating the local payment gateway Paypro in the marketplace app, enabling the collection of user payments.
