I was tasked with locating in-spec materials and establishing the limits of feasible borrow pits. Duties: drill core logging, sample taking, surveying, map creation, and report generation

Engineering Intern Student

Mount Polley Mining Corporation

Returned for a second summer in TSF Field Inspector role. Tragically, on Aug 4th, Mount Polley's tailings dam breached. That summer I learned a lot about crisis management and the responsibilities of an engineer in such a situation. I witnessed engineers take charge to ensure the safety of employees, limit the damage, and begin the restoration process.

Responsible for quality control of construction activities for the annual raise of the tailings dam. Ensured construction met design specification outlined by consultants. Duties: Surveying, Nuclear Densometer Testing, Piezometer and Inclinometer Reading, Material Testing, 3D Modeling, and generation of Daily Construction Reports

Responsible for the day-to-day marketing and recruiting activities for a team of 25 volunteer coordinates across Canada and the US.
