Don’t let them gaslight you into believing you didn’t just witness a murder.

Alex Pretti was filming federal immigration agents in Minneapolis. Video and witness accounts show him holding a phone and trying to help/shield a woman who had been shoved down and pepper sprayed. Then he was pinned down and murdered in cold blood. 

And I’m furious.

“I don’t do politics” is a privilege. It’s neutrality that protects power. It’s the false belief that if you keep your head down, it won’t touch you.

Not speaking up about these horrors is complicity.

Say something. Post something. Use your voice before it’s fucking too late.

Fuck ICE. Abolish ICE.

Just a dude in Marketing | Sometimes Works | Sometimes Golfs

Woke up to yet another job rejection this morning.

This time it was a text. And it was actually kind. It felt sincere. They told me it was neck and neck, said nice things about me, and encouraged me to apply again.

And still… it hit me right in the fucking chest.

Because I was in their office on Friday. Met the whole team. Spent two hours there. Multiple interviews. Real conversations. The kind where you start letting yourself imagine a normal life again. A routine. A paycheck. A reason to get out of bed that isn’t just “please don’t fall apart today.”

I don’t think people talk enough about what unemployment does to your mental health. Not in the motivational, “stay positive” way. In the real way.

Not having a job or consistent money does something to you. It changes how you breathe. It changes how you sleep. Every little expense feels like a threat. Your brain is running calculations all day long, even when you’re trying to watch a show or working out or playing tennis or taking a walk or pretend you’re fine. There’s this constant background hum of fear that never shuts off.

And not having a job to go to can drive you mad. Not because work is your identity, but because structure matters. Purpose matters. Having somewhere to put your energy matters. Having people to collaborate with matters.

And for me, not being creative is its own kind of hell. I’m a builder. I’m a strategist. I’m at my best when I’m making things, solving problems, creating momentum. When that’s missing, the days get louder. The self doubt gets louder. Everything feels heavier.

I’m trying. I’m applying. I’m showing up. I’m interviewing. I’m doing all the “right” things.

But today, I’m just being honest. This is hard. It’s fucking heartbreaking. And I know I’m not the only one out here holding it together with duct tape and caffeine.

If you’re in the same boat, I see you. And if you know of a marketing role where someone needs a real human who can build strategy, execute, and actually care, I’m here.

I just really need something to give soon.
