Chief Executive Officer

I’m Falan Blake a nursing student and CNA with a vision to bridge psychiatry, neurology, and nursing research. My journey into healthcare is deeply personal. I’ve lost loved ones to stroke and heart disease, and my child lives with a serious mental illness that changed the course of our lives. 

What drives me is the question why…why the brain and body respond the way they do, and how we can move beyond treating symptoms to addressing root causes.

My focus is pediatric neurology and mental health nursing, with long-term plans to pursue a dual PHD/DNP and position myself as a nurse scientist. I believe nursing can play a greater role in reshaping how we understand brain health from advocating for advanced imaging in psychiatric care to exploring new pathways for trauma-informed recovery.

This isn’t just a career shift; it’s a lifelong mission. My platform will document my academic journey, share insights at the intersection of psychiatry and neurology, and build awareness for research-based nursing care.

Responsible for developing an online learning environment in which students are actively engaged in meaningful experiences, identifying and modifying instructional resources to meet the needs of diverse students, using data to identify struggling students, and responding promptly to student communication and work.

Responsible for K-12 students during outdoor time, snack, homework, enrichment activity, and dismissal. Worked with a variety of age groups from diverse backgrounds to support interpersonal skills and help with homework.

Responsible for maintaining master attendance list to ensure camper safety, completing reference checks and other administrative tasks, supervising campers, providing emotional support to struggling campers, and coordinating with summer camp counselors and administrators.

Tutored a 4th grade Korean student with mid-level English proficiency and built vocabulary, pronunciation, and literacy skills through journaling, readings, and guided practice. Set up and ran weekly Zoom meetings independently, coordinated with the students's parents, and used a variety of online resources to support instruction.

Responsible for providing quality customer service while maximizing efficiency, coaching less experienced employees, opening and closing the store, balancing the safe, and providing services such as check-cashing, lottery tickets, Western Union, and selling tobacco products.
