From boutique fitness studios to commercial gyms with over 3,000 members, and more recently as an Account Specialist serving some of Bullhorn’s largest, most complex clients, I've had the opportunity to refine go-to-market strategies that were adopted at a company-wide scale, implement recruiting and onboarding processes that reduced ramp times by up to 50%, and built relationships with both customers and team members that are stronger than ever today.

I keep getting the same LinkedIn outbound questions, so this weekend I finally wrote down how I actually think about it.

Not a growth guide or tactics or hacks.

Instead here is the mental model we use at The Deal Lab when LinkedIn is part of an outbound system (with or without email and phone).

It covers things like:

• the only few LinkedIn motions I actually use
• why your market’s responsiveness matters more than your idea of clever copy
• how different sending profiles do most of the work before a message is even sent
• how we think about limits, automation, and risk (yes, PEDs included)
• why consistency beats intensity every time

This is the same framework we use when helping teams run LinkedIn outbound at scale, including inside tools like HeyReach.io.

Contact sourcing has gone through a quiet evolution.

It started with single data tools. You’d run searches, export lists, and work from there.

Then teams began scraping those tools and layering on waterfall enrichment to improve coverage and accuracy. That became the standard workflow for a while.

Now the next step is happening. Waterfall and enrichment platforms are starting to support list origination directly across their data sources, instead of relying on scraped inputs.

That’s how we’re using BetterContact today. We originate lists inside the platform, then decide how and where to activate the data downstream.

It doesn’t replace every tool in the stack, but it does change where list building starts.
