The next step I made was joining a financial advisors team. I took any available next step towards becoming a financial advisor.

I worked with clients in the same capacity as the advisors on the team:

Reviewed portfolios and recommended investments.

Built financial plans and help bring on new clients.

Then made sure that current clients felt that their plans were updated with their lives and that they received the service they needed to keep their lives on track with their goals.

I thought it wouldn't make sense going straight into the role as I had just graduated college 

And I wanted to become the go to person any client could rely on to care for their retirement as well as get them to the point they wished to be.

In this role I was able to work with financial advisors and their clients to trade many different

Stocks, bonds and options to help them grow and protect their portfolios

I learned from the ground up in many aspects of the business.

Since I was working with financial advisors and clients everyday I was able to become part of the training team for new financial advisors and employees in general.

Helped the management team oversee 60+ client associates which in turn provided me an understanding of what it took to run a business with employees

Market trade corrections and fixing margin calls were part of my everyday activities to ensure clients were getting what they expected.

While completing all of these daily I had three straight years of flawless bi-annual audit results and achieved the highest possible annual review rating

Most people need THINGS to feel valuable.

That's why they'll never be wealthy...

It's about what owns you.

Wealthy people buy assets.

Poor people buy approval.
↳ Cars. 
↳ Watches. 
↳ Designer status.

Then wonder why they stay broke.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺:
↳ It’s a mindset thing.
↳ It’s an insecurity thing.
↳ It’s an ego thing.

Wealth starts in the mind.

You must first value yourself without THINGS.

If you don't master that, no amount of money will ever be enough.

This was a HARD watch (cringe warning).

Social media has corrupted our minds...

If you think happiness requires a yacht, a Lambo, or a million followers...

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸.

Because just 200 years ago, none of that existed.

And humans still laughed, danced, loved, and lived meaningful lives.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆:
↳ There are miserable billionaires.
↳ And people with little who feel rich in spirit.

Money matters, without doubt.

But don’t let social media and "hustle gurus"  convince you that business success is the same thing as life success.

𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁:
↳ Enough to live.
↳ Time for family.
↳ Room for hobbies.
↳ And a life of meaning, not just flash.

At the start... progress is INVISIBLE.

𝗦𝗲𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱:
↳ They know the first years show little.
↳ But quietly beneath the surface, it's brewing.
↳ The momentum firmly sets the wheels in motion.

↳ They're unaware of "invisible progress"...
↳ So they give up, thinking nothing is happening.

What a mistake.

•⁠ Amateurs chase returns.
•⁠ Great investors build systems.

You don't need to SEE it to BELIEVE it (at the start).

Wealth is a game of patience, discipline, and trust in your system.

Why am I tipping someone to hand me a muffin?

"Tipping culture" has gone too far...

That screen spins around. 

𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻:
👉 No Tip
👉 Tip Amount
👉 Total Amount

I pause.

Not because I don’t want to tip. 

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜’𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜’𝗺 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿..
↳ The muffin was pre-made.
↳ No customisation.
↳ No extra service.
↳ Just… handed to me. 

And yet, I still select the "Tip Amount" option. 

𝗪𝗵𝘆? 

Because I know servers rely on tips.
Yet, is does feel... expected.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴:

The more I think about it, the more I wonder if the lines are blurring.

Are we tipping for service?
Or just for existing in the transaction?

𝗦𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂:
↳ Do you tip for everything now?
↳ And more importantly... should you?


𝗣.𝗦 To be very clear - I almost always tip. Especially when there’s effort, friendliness, or genuine service. And I’m more than happy to help someone trying to make ends meet. This post IS NOT about being anti-tip. It’s just curious 


𝗣.𝗣.𝗦 Some people have suggested that some owners might "underpay" staff because they know the consumers will fill the remuneration gap with tips. I'm not sure I agree with this as many restaurants run on razor-thin margins and pay their staff fairly (at least in my experience). Nonetheless, would love to hear your thoughts on this. Is this pure conspiracy or do you think some owners actually do this?
