What a day.. 😮‍💨 

Guess how many panic calls I got about Iran yesterday?

ZERO.

Not because my clients aren’t nervous.

↳ The media sells urgency. 
↳ Markets price probability.

Fear → Panic sell → Regret → Repeat.

2008.
Brexit.
Covid.
Rate hikes.

Every time feels different.
Every time isn’t.

Scary headlines are temporary.

Panic selling is permanent.

This time is not different.

I HATE losing money.

But I've noticed two things that make great investors...

1.⁠ ⁠They invest A LOT.
2.⁠ ⁠They invest FOR LONG.

↳ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀: Don't invest or panic-sell at a loss.
↳ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀: Also make losses, but don't sell a loss.

They may invest in EXACTLY the same things.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲? Time.

Wealth-building takes really, really long.

But the sacrifice you make to invest is felt immediately.

The winners are the one's who best bridge that gap.

“Nicotine is not addictive.”

𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿?

↳ Internal documents came out.
↳ Billions were paid in settlements.
↳ And the story fell apart.

People, even entire nations, can defend the wrong narrative for a very long time.

Of the traits I’m most proud of, one stands above the rest:

My ability to think for myself.

𝗜 𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗱.

↳ I question what I’m told.
↳ I look at the incentives.
↳ I understand the facts.

Because when it comes to money or anything in life…

Blind trust can be expensive.

Independent, critical thinking isn’t being contrarian for the sake of it.

It’s just being responsible.




𝗣.𝗦 𝗜’𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. 

In 2020 I briefly fell for the whole metaverse narrative. In a momentary lapse of critical thinking, I bought into the hype and made a few very silly investments. Lesson learned. Proud to say though…

↳ I never bought a single NFT
↳ Never touched a meme coin
↳ Never bought a meme stock
↳ Never bought virtual land
↳ And never paid money for a JPEG

We all get things wrong sometimes. The key is learning from it. 😅
