The next step I made was joining a financial advisors team. I took any available next step towards becoming a financial advisor.

I worked with clients in the same capacity as the advisors on the team:

Reviewed portfolios and recommended investments.

Built financial plans and help bring on new clients.

Then made sure that current clients felt that their plans were updated with their lives and that they received the service they needed to keep their lives on track with their goals.

I thought it wouldn't make sense going straight into the role as I had just graduated college 

And I wanted to become the go to person any client could rely on to care for their retirement as well as get them to the point they wished to be.

In this role I was able to work with financial advisors and their clients to trade many different

Stocks, bonds and options to help them grow and protect their portfolios

I learned from the ground up in many aspects of the business.

Since I was working with financial advisors and clients everyday I was able to become part of the training team for new financial advisors and employees in general.

Helped the management team oversee 60+ client associates which in turn provided me an understanding of what it took to run a business with employees

Market trade corrections and fixing margin calls were part of my everyday activities to ensure clients were getting what they expected.

While completing all of these daily I had three straight years of flawless bi-annual audit results and achieved the highest possible annual review rating

I did it.

I put the final nail in the ‘Carbs are bad’ coffin.

For the past several months, I’ve been experimenting with a mostly keto diet; while also utilizing 24-36 hour fasts, and the occasional refeed.

The results have been incredible. 

My energy’s been stable, I’ve leaned out significantly, and it’s been a great reset for my metabolism and insulin sensitivity.

And this past week, I added in something else.

A Fruit Fast.

Instead of fasting, I gave the middle finger to low-carb zealots, and replaced my fast with two full days where my only calories came from fruit and fruit juices.

The outcome?

After being stuck around hovering around 200 pounds for a couple weeks, my weight dropped from 200 to 195 in just a couple days.

→ Energy increased.
→ Sleep quality jumped.
→ My digestion improved.
→ And mentally, I felt sharper than I had in weeks.

So how does that make sense?

How could I possibly drop weight while eating nothing but carbs (and more calories than I was previously) when people still claim carbs and fruit are ‘bad’?!

Here’s some sauce for ya…

When cortisol is high (from fasting, training, stress, or under-eating), your liver releases glucose to keep blood sugar stable. That’s part of why fasting works - it mobilizes stored energy. But when that stress response stays chronically elevated, your thyroid downregulates, sleep quality tanks, and fat loss stalls.

That’s where carbs - especially fructose - play a key role.

Fructose (from fruit and honey) doesn’t just replenish muscle glycogen. It specifically restores liver glycogen, which tells your body that energy availability is high and stress is low. That signal helps lower cortisol, stabilize blood sugar, and bring your metabolism back into balance.

In simple terms:

Better fueling = better recovery = lower stress = lower inflammation = better fat burning.

That’s why I felt better, slept better, and actually dropped weight during the fruit fast.

My metabolism wasn’t suppressed. It was supported.

The lesson here isn’t that everyone should start drinking orange juice all day.
It’s that carbohydrates aren’t the problem.

Because used intentionally - around training, recovery, and metabolic needs - carbs can actually improve fat loss, not hinder it.

The goal isn’t “low carb” or “high carb.”

It’s metabolic flexibility - the ability to thrive on both fuel sources when appropriate.
