Treat people the same regardless of their title.

I've watched people build whole careers on this.

Same respect for the CEO and the receptionist.
Same energy for the director and the intern.

Your reputation moves faster than you think.

And trust me... people do notice:
→ Who you greet and who you ignore
→ How your tone shifts when someone senior walks in
→ If you actually listen or just wait to talk

The person you dismiss today might run the room tomorrow.
I've seen it happen more times than you'd think.

Want to be someone people look up to?

Especially for leaders, start here:

1. Remember names and use them
↳ "Thanks for that, Sara" not just "cheers"

2. Give away ownership of ideas
↳ Let someone else take full credit and run with it. It helps build their confidence.

3. Protect people in public
↳ Give feedback in private. Trust will multiply.

4. Be the first to admit you're wrong
↳ Vulnerability isn't weakness. It builds trust.

5. Ask where they want to be in 5 years
↳ Even if it's not with you. Care about their path, not just their tasks.

6. Let them teach
↳ Put someone junior in front of the room. Watch them grow.

7. Send a note of praise when you notice something good
↳ Not during reviews. Just when you see it.

8. Ask the quiet person what they think
↳ "What's your take on this?" opens doors

9. Say thank you and mean it
↳ Not while looking at your phone

10. Celebrate their 'out of work' wins
↳ They're human. Be just as proud of their marathon as their project performance.

I've made this a rule for how I work.

Because how you treat people when you need 
nothing from them shows who you really are.
