As an Investor Relations Lead, I'm here to ensure the success of our Portco's in their fundraising efforts.

The IPO market is likely to gain momentum this year, and that's a great signal for early-stage startups. The exits trigger payouts to LPs, who then are likely to commit to new funds (think VC, Angel syndicates, cVCs..) We've got 7 likely mega-IPOs on the horizon:

1. OpenAI (likely at $1T valuation)
2. SpaceX
3. Stripe
4. Anthropic
5. Databricks (est. valuation $43B)
6. Canva (valued at $42B from its most recent funding round)
7. Anduril (defense tech, raised $6.3B to date)

Another plus?

Post-IPO, employees with company shares convert their equity into liquid cash.

-> a lot of them end up angel investing in new ventures... and typically have a higher risk tolerance than traditional wealth managers. 

They are more likely to fund "crazy" early-stage ideas that institutions might skip.

• Daily roles included group and self-directed gym sessions, video analysis and self-reflection of previous games`, skill sessions, rugby/contact and conditioning. In all these aspects I pushed myself to the physical and emotional limits.
• Taking part in a disciplined sport, I learnt how to deal with both positive and negative feedback and how to persevere when under pressure.
• Led detailed video analysis sessions on the previous game/following game to develop myself as a player and person and also support others in doing the same.
• Off-field duties involved representing myself and the team by meeting with sponsors and taking part in Q&A events and press conferences.
• Promoted community rugby and participation by visiting local schools/clubs and coaching younger teams.
• Developing a network of contacts in the rugby world that will translate into the financial sector. This￼￼￼￼￼ network is founded on relationships that I have forged and maintained with key members of the industry through social and formal settings.

Wasps

I am an Ex-Professional Rugby Player & am now at Velocity Capital Advisors. Velocity is the first VC with an investment strategy based on investment in digital distribution businesses that can use leverage specifically for digital user acquisition. The impact of this for founders and early-stage investors alike is less dilution, the need for fewer funding rounds, enhanced revenues and thereby enterprise valuations. We refer to this strategy as a Leveraged Equity strategy, with the leverage provided by our sister company, Juice.

Prior to this, I was at Kuber, a platform focused exclusively on SEIS, EIS & BPR. 

Rugby has always been a passion of mine & was I was fortunate enough to play for several teams such as London Wasps, London Welsh and Cornish Pirates. My appetite for the game was developed at Twyford C of E High School where I studied my A levels whilst taking part in London Wasps full-time Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence. This prepared me for what to expect at Loughborough University. During my time there we won the British Universities & Colleges Cup.

I thrive in relationship-based roles & am currently responsible for growing the partnership between Velocity and HNWs, IFA's and Family Offices in the UK.

Outside of my job I enjoy keeping fit by competing in Rugby 7s tournaments around the world, having represented Jamaica 7s in the 2022 Rugby World Cup 7s and the Commonwealth Games 2022.
