Why?

Cuz when founders write brand content, they don’t think like customers.

They think like parents.

Emotionally attached & defensive.

So, the best strategy that works for your brand is "𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁".

Think practically & objectively. 

It should be specific, unique, relevant, clear and concise.

No one wants an all-in-one brand.

They want something that feels like it was made for them.

A brand isn’t what you say it is.

It’s what they recognise themselves in.

I recently tested my posting frequency on LinkedIn and did research on the same. I found that quality is useless without right frequency on LinkedIn.

To prove this fact, I also found a relevant article published by Buffer.

Buffer’s data scientist analysed 2 million+ LinkedIn posts and found that posting 2-5 times a week is the best way to get the most out of your LinkedIn profile.

But what I observed & tested on my LinkedIn was:

☑︎ When I post regularly, I get more impressions and better per-post performance.

☑︎ When I even skip one day of posting, then the next day's post gets less instant reach, but slowly it increases.

But the fact is that if you want to be seen on LinkedIn, then you need to post often or regularly.

Here’s what the data tells us: 

◼︎ Moving from 1 post/week to 2–5 posts/week shifts how LinkedIn’s algorithm treats your content, you start getting more impressions and better per-post performance. 

◼︎ Posting 6–10 times/week can amplify reach. At 11+ posts/week, reach and engagement can grow dramatically, but that only works when every post has substance.

Remember...

Posting for the sake of posting might get numbers, but it won’t build relationships or authority if it is not backed by quality content. 

You can split your content into:

- 2-3 short posts
- 2-3 In-depth posts

Now this way it's easier to maintain a regular posting schedule.

Another area I’ve been exploring is audience matching, a strategy that ensures the LinkedIn algorithm accurately delivers your posts to the right audience.

And that's the reason many people didn’t get the results from their posts.

◼︎ Comparison is the thief of profit. If you are "better," you’re fighting for 1st place. If you are "unique," you are the only one in the race.


𝗪𝗵𝘆 "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁" 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗽: It’s exhausting because someone is always younger, faster or cheaper. It forces you to compete on price and features....a race to the bottom.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆" 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝗮𝘁: I’ve realised that clients don't just want a "service." They can get that on Fiverr for $xx. They want a partner who understands that a "service" without a soul is just a digital brochure. They want the one whom they feel connected to.


Here's the BOLD move you need to make:

You look at your competitors and think.. 
"How can I beat them?" 
Stop trying to beat them. 
Start making them irrelevant.

Invest in things that can make you the ONLY one:

Yesterday, I attended an interview I was almost sure I’d get.

But it reminded me not to celebrate too early.

On paper, it was like a match made in heaven.

Everything is aligned.

They want someone with a background of:

B2B, Personal branding, Founder-led, LinkedIn.

Exactly what I’ve been doing for a long time.

What they told me was:

A $2B tech company.
A CEO with 100k+ followers on LinkedIn.
Need for a personal brand.

And it is true, but it’s totally irrelevant when I dig deeper.

Their CEO has 100k+ followers but 0 sense of personal branding.

Let me explain.

CEO and his team have been posting content like:

- Daily trending news with shocking headlines.
- Every piece of content is just another shocking news.
- Repeating the same news-based content over and over.

And it’s working and they call it opinion-based content.

But it is not, it is just journalism in a business context.

And now they wanted:

Founder (CEO) credibility
Investor relevance
Speaking opportunities
CEO's personal brand influence

But it is not as simple as that.

Yes, you can create clickbait content.
Yes, you can trick the audience into following you.
Yes, you can get lots of impressions by targeting broad audiences.

But what's the future of that?

Ultimately, you become something you never wanted to be.

Why?

Because, just for the sake of impressions and followers, you’ve built a foundation that is misaligned.

Such random virality doesn’t compound into reputation.

It traps you.

So I told them the truth in the interview:

What you've built is a misaligned foundation.

And I dropped that opportunity.

This is where most founders get LinkedIn wrong:

- Impressions aren’t the goal.
- Followers aren’t the goal
- Traffic isn’t the outcome.

Reputation is!

Personal branding is not about millions of impressions.

It’s about being known for something specific, by the right people over time.

If you keep chasing vanity metrics, you’ll keep killing the hen for the egg.

And eventually, there’s no egg left.

It's not a lack of skills or knowledge but...

EGO is the barrier to thought leadership on LinkedIn.

Many founders think that to become a thought leader, they need:

◼︎ To have a lot of followers.
◼︎ To maintain a good reputation.
◼︎ To always show the positive side of things.

They believe:

“If I look like the expert, authority will follow.”

That belief creates a quiet problem.

You help only when there’s a client.
You engage only with people who have status.
You share knowledge only when it leads to money.

That’s not thought leadership at all.

What actually builds thought leadership:

LinkedIn is in a massive phase of algorithm shift.

It’s high time to experiment and discover what truly works for you.

Only dead fish 🐟 go with the flow. [𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻-𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻]

Nowadays, every new LinkedIn content feels 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗖𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘.

There is one philosophy that everyone agrees on.

Copy what already works.

I’m not against that, but against the way it’s being done.

We cannot follow gurus blindly.

We need to understand how to do it better & smarter.

Everyone is saying video works.
Carousels work.
Visuals work.

So everyone does them.

That’s the problem.

When a format gets crowded, it stops being an 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲.

On the other hand, we've completely ignored some content formats.

Why? Because everyone is saying they don’t work.

To be honest, I thought the same.

But I gave it a shot.

I tried formats that everyone says don’t work:

1. Text-only posts.
2. LinkedIn native newsletters.

These 2 formats are the most ignored ones.

Recently, my text-only post has performed better than my carousel.

Not just one, but two posts in a row worked better.

That means text-only posts have been less crowded.

There is space for it and also people who love them.

And for the newsletter, it is a goldmine as you own the audience.

Your every post will directly land in their inbox, no matter what.

Which is exactly why these 2 stand out.
