Lead department with client interfacing in meeting new clients with business development and in higher-level client matters. Conduct department weekly meetings; facilitate technical training on topics of need and the latest tax law developments; discuss how to improve technical accuracy and responsibility for client deliverables. 

Represent department in company weekly department head meetings.  Ensure that department communication is coordinated with client service department and marketing department.  Collect and compile department weekly statistics for submission to owner.  Review and analyze staff performance analysis including billable hours vs. chargeable hours; job chargebacks; and refunds.  Analyze staff statistics looking for such issues as production issues; ensuring all matters are handled; and limiting owner involvement to review production department as a whole.  Anticipate and interview employee candidates for staff needs.  

Directly supervise assistant tax managers and assist with the supervision of new hires.  Manage staff workload; compliance with policies and procedures; and meeting minimum weekly goals.  Assign existing and new client tax, consulting, tax planning, and tax representation files.   Monitor accounting department on deadlines for financials, sales tax and payroll.

Achievements:
•	Currently manage team of two assistant managers, three seniors, four accountants, and two interns
•	Guided department to post highest ever mark of 2.4 million in annual gross revenue in 2020.

Senior Tax Manager

Assist Senior Tax manager with Production department weekly meetings; recommend and lead training on technical topics of need and the latest tax law developments; assist with research and expectations.  Participate in weekly department head meetings and assist senior manager with state of the department.  In absence of senior tax manager; fill position duties and field staff inquiries as needed; collect/compile department weekly statistics for submission to owner.  Assist in staff performance analysis including billable hours vs. chargeable hours; job chargebacks; and refunds.  

Directly supervise department new hires and field staff inquiries as needed.  Incorporate quality control checklists; educate, demonstrate, and monitor progress.  Identify specific staff weaknesses that need correction; identify and reinforce strengths; provide feedback to staff on an ongoing basis.  Manage staff workload; compliance with policies and procedures; and meeting minimum weekly goals.  Assign existing and new client tax, consulting, strategic tax planning, and tax representation files to staff.  Develop staff familiarity with IRS representation work.  Perform quarterly written staff performance reviews.  Manage vacation requests with consideration for deadlines and workload.  Manage and monitor accounting department on deadlines for financials, sales tax and payroll.

Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns to completion.  Craft strategic tax analysis projections.  Prepare responses to tax notices.  Represent clients in federal and state audits of individual and business tax returns. Develop offers in compromise, installment agreements and negotiate with IRS and state agencies to lower taxpayer tax debt. 

Achievements:
•	Became firm’s primary tax professional in charge of IRS and state tax representation work in August 2019.
•	Promoted after one year of service to manage a department of two tax seniors and three accountants

Formed S-Corporation accounting firm and purchased existing Long Beach storefront tax franchise location in January 2015.  Sold franchise in January 2019.  S-Corporation practice remains active and prepares returns for legacy clients.

Achievements:
•	Overall management and responsibility for the operation of tax practice, including preparation, planning, consultations, and other services.   Served primarily small business owners in diverse service industries. 
•	Managed a tax practice consisting of over 500 individual tax clients and staff of five to seven associates.
