I help women leaders and changemakers own their voice and build personal brands rooted in identity, clarity and purpose.

Much of my work supports women who are capable, experienced and mission-driven, but feel overlooked, unseen or unsure how to communicate the value of what they carry. They know they are called to more, but don’t want to lose themselves trying to be visible.

My approach to personal branding is identity-led. Not trend-driven. Not performative.

When identity is clear, confidence steadies. Messaging sharpens. Presence strengthens. Visibility becomes intentional rather than exhausting.

Alongside my work as a personal brand strategist, I am a keynote speaker, facilitator and MC, working with organisations, networks and events to support leaders and teams around voice, identity, presence and purpose-led leadership. My sessions are grounded, practical and reflective, helping people communicate with clarity and confidence rather than performance.

I am also a broadcaster, author and the founder of Heartsong Live Radio, a values-led radio station I built from the ground up and grew onto mainstream DAB. Creating platforms where voices are heard, valued and elevated is not just what I teach. It is what I live.

As the first African woman to start a radio station in Scotland, my career has been shaped by navigating leadership, visibility and identity in spaces where women are often expected to shrink. That lived experience informs how I support others.

My work sits at the intersection of purpose, mission and profit. I believe meaningful work deserves to be resourced, and women should not have to choose between impact and sustainability.

Remember I said I had my first live business pitch coming up?

Well it happened yesterday. I will be honest, my body tried to talk me out of it.

Before the event even began, something unexpected happened. I had a panic attack. I have never had one before and it felt really strange. The sweating, the dizziness, the numb hands, and that horrible sense that something is wrong even when you cannot explain it.

Thankfully Natalie Garry Dana Drzikova Nicola Thomson-Berwick helped me calm down and find my breath again. I am genuinely grateful.

When the time came later, I was able to stand up and deliver my one minute pitch.

Not because I suddenly felt fearless. But because  I remembered what I tell my clients all the time. Start before you feel ready.

Happy International Women’s Day. 💛

So I have been thinking about this year’s theme, Give to Gain.

And it made me think more deeply about what that really means.

Because my first thought was, am I giving so that I may gain, or am I just giving genuinely? And I think that is a fair question.

As women, giving is not new to us. We give our time, our care, our energy, our ideas, our strength. We give at work, at home, in friendships, in leadership, in community, and often in ways that people do not even notice.

That is why this theme made me think a little deeper.

Because giving can mean different things. Sometimes it can feel like people only value giving when there is something to show for it. A result. A reward. A return. But real giving does not always work like that.

Sometimes the gain is not what comes back to you from others. Sometimes the gain is who you become in the process.

You become stronger. Wiser. Softer in some ways, bolder in others. You grow in compassion. You grow in confidence. You grow in understanding.

For me, the work I do has never been about giving because I expect something back. It has come from a real desire to make life better for others, to create space, to support women through change, and to help people feel seen, heard, and strengthened.

And yes, there is gain in that. But not in a shallow way.

The gain is in the lives touched. The gain is in the growth that happens within us too. The gain is in knowing that what you gave came from a genuine place.

So this International Women’s Day, I think the real lesson for me is this. Give genuinely. Give wisely. But do not give so much of yourself that you disappear in the process.

To every woman who keeps showing up, keeps pouring out, keeps building, keeps caring, even when it is hard, I see you.

There are seasons when you feel stretched before you see the change. 

Sometimes we feel that pull to rush it. To fix it quickly. To get clarity now, results now, confirmation now.

But I’ve learned that God is not in a rush with us. He refines. “He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.” (Malachi 3:3)

Refining usually happens in the quiet. It happens while you are still moving forward, still obeying, still doing the work nobody claps for.

Plans can change. Your structure can grow. But your identity has to stay anchored.

Because when you know who you are, you can grow without losing yourself.

And when you trust the One who called you, you do not have to force what He is forming.

Sometimes the real work is not changing everything around you, but staying rooted in who you are.

Valentine’s Day has a way of reminding us that love matters.

Not just the big gestures. The flowers. The dinner. The photos. But the quieter things that hold a relationship together. Patience. Tenderness. The choice to stay kind, even when life feels heavy.

And if we are honest, midlife can feel heavy.

From our late thirties and forties onwards, many couples begin to notice subtle shifts. Energy changes. Sleep changes. Mood changes. Confidence can change. Desire can change. 

Sometimes it is hard to name what is happening, and even harder to explain it to the person you love most. When hormones shift, relationships can feel it too.

What breaks my heart is how often good couples begin to misread each other in this season.

Fatigue gets read as distance. Overwhelm gets read as coldness. A change in intimacy gets read as rejection.

And instead of compassion, couples start carrying quiet confusion.

At Adelphe Connect, we have supported many women through midlife transitions, and one thing has become clear. Partners need language. They need understanding. They need a safe space to learn what is changing, without blame.

"When I arrived in Fife just over a year ago, and joined the Fife Climate Hub nine months ago, I could not have anticipated quite how vibrant, determined and welcoming the climate action community here would be. 

Fife is alive with action. 

Across the county, people are growing food in community gardens, repairing and sharing equipment, running tool libraries, championing active travel, monitoring local biodiversity, organising beach cleans and holding spaces for learning and skill-sharing. It is so powerful seeing climate action not as an abstract policy ambition, but as a deeply human local practice. 

My first real taste of this energy came when I (somewhat boldly!) ‘broke’ into the Hub Gathering on 20 March 2025. I walked into a room full of conversation, commitment and warmth. I remember sitting next to Peter from Greener Kirkcaldy, who leads on active travel, and thinking: I have found my people. 

What has struck me most over these past nine months, is the welcome. Networks can sometimes feel closed or hard to navigate when you’re new. But in Fife, I found the opposite: doors opened, conversations flowed, and people gave their time generously. On International Women’s Day, I want to pause and recognise some of the women whose leadership, expertise and determination make this ecosystem so strong. 

To the women like Lauren Brook, Brooke Welsh, Jo Taylor, Kathryn Miller, Sonja Potjewijd, Gillian Napier, Jo McFarlane, Eloho Efemuai, Ea O'Neill, and many many more: Thank you for your strength, ingenuity, and brilliance.

I am only sorry that I couldn’t highlight all the incredible women I have met this year. If you are reading this and wondering whether you are one of them, you absolutely are! I hope you recognise your strength and generosity, and just how much you inspire those around you. Thank you for the conversations, the challenge, the collaboration, the patience, the humour, and the relentless commitment to building something better. I feel incredibly fortunate to be stepping into another year alongside you.

I will never get tomorrow back 🔙 

I will never spend the day on the 5th of March 2026 again

That day is now gone, never to return, just a memory

It's like a moving train wheezing past countrysides, cities and tunnels. You see a fragment for one second, blink and it's gone!

I was speaking to a business owner the other day with the prospect of getting him to collaborate on a project I'm working on and he said sure let's have a drink but win lose or draw, let's have fun along the way!

Should we not aim to have this mantra as our way of life?

When you are trying to get that new role, that promotion, that perfect house, should we not always intentionally have fun no matter what?

Because, life is in moments, fragments of seconds, so should we not endeavour to savour every moment?

I'm on a train down to Birmingham to do some work with FatFace, I will talk more about this later but while on the train I was just thinking of everything happening around the world and hoping those going through pain, suffering and war made the most of their lives before the dark days they are now facing 

We know not what tomorrow brings so while we have today, let's enjoy it, let's relish in it, let's smile, let's laugh from the pit of our stomach, let's be overcome with JOY 🥳

There has been a misunderstanding of my reality, and this has become obvious to me over the years from the many conversations I've had

People have told me things like:

You are lucky
You are connected
Things are easy for you
Everyone knows you

All these can't be farther from the truth

When I wake up in the morning, I whisper something to myself - "Brace for impact"

What impact you might ask?

****REJECTIONS****

Because in any given day, I get lots of rejections

Rejections of a proposal
Rejections of collaboration
Rejections of support

Not everyone will buy into your ideas so you need to keep taking the hits until someone says YES


What I ask people trying to start something or grow something or get a job is this:

How Many Hits Can You Take?

You must be ready to take the 10, the 100 rejections and dig deep enough to keep knocking

I will tell you, it's hard going, it will wear you down and this is why I sometimes say being a founder is only for the brave 😢

Gym!

I have this interesting relationship with the gym. Not excited going there but love the feeling I get once I get going and especially love the feeling of leaving 🥳 

It's like a lot of things in life, it's like a lot of goals. They say nothing good comes easy right?

So what is that thing you are not excited about doing but which you need to do to get to your destination? How will you find that motivation to crack on with it? How will you ensure this does not hinder you from reaching your goal?

Walking through Glasgow the other day, I was struck by something simple which is that a city only works when thousands of small, often unseen contributions come together


The roads we walk on.  
The transport that runs smoothly.  
The bins collected before dawn.  
The offices that open on time.  
The community spaces kept clean and safe.

Most of us never meet the individuals behind these efforts but their work keeps the whole city moving.

Organisations and communities operate the same way. The people in visible roles may be the ones we recognise, but it’s the countless contributors behind the scenes who make real progress possible 📈

The team member who prepares the data.  
The volunteer who sorts out the logistics.  
The administrator who handles the details no one thinks about.  
The colleague who quietly fills the gaps so others can shine.

These roles may not be glamorous, but they are vital so if your work ever feels unseen or “less important”, remember this:

Just like Glasgow relies on every part of its system, your team relies on you. Your contribution is part of the bigger picture.

And if you lead teams, take a moment today to recognise the people whose work rarely gets highlighted. A genuine thank you can mean more than you might think.

One Hundred & Fifty Eight Years Old.


Some companies are household names because of hype or headline. Then, there are companies like Baxters Food Group. 

I recently found out this Scottish business has been around for a while and I was intrigued so went to do some research on it as longevity is something I marvel at, knowing how hard it is to keep something going for long

Baxters Food Group have been quietly consistent, deeply rooted, four generations strong and still growing into a global organisation!

It is remarkable to see a Scottish family business that started in 1868 evolve from a small shop in Fochabers into a worldwide food brand with over 160 products and operations across the UK, the United States, Australia and Europe. 

In an era where many businesses receive praise for short‑term wins (you know of one that went under recently), I think it is important to acknowledge the ones that have built 150 years of trust, quality and community commitment, and continue to innovate while staying true to their roots.

Baxters has moved through generations without losing its family ethos or the principle of “be different, be better,” which has guided the organisation since the beginning and what I admire most is that their growth has been both commercial and sustainable. 

Their commitment to sustainability and responsible business is clear. Their sustainability framework emphasises responsible energy use, sustainable packaging exploration and community support.

At a time when ESG is often used as a buzzword, Baxters has embodied these values for generations through real actions rather than mere slogans. Their approach reminds us that long‑term success is not just about scaling operations, but about staying committed to the people, the communities and the standards that built the organisation in the first place.

There is something powerful about businesses that rise without noise. Brands that continue to create jobs, innovate, contribute to local economies and uphold community values for more than a century. Baxters is one of those brands.

📈  So here’s to the companies that keep going.

💚 The ones that grow, evolve and contribute across generations without always receiving the spotlight they deserve.

Baxters is a Scottish success story worth celebrating. And I am glad it continues to thrive.
