I help women leaders and changemakers own their voice and build personal brands rooted in identity, clarity and purpose.

Much of my work supports women who are capable, experienced and mission-driven, but feel overlooked, unseen or unsure how to communicate the value of what they carry. They know they are called to more, but don’t want to lose themselves trying to be visible.

My approach to personal branding is identity-led. Not trend-driven. Not performative.

When identity is clear, confidence steadies. Messaging sharpens. Presence strengthens. Visibility becomes intentional rather than exhausting.

Alongside my work as a personal brand strategist, I am a keynote speaker, facilitator and MC, working with organisations, networks and events to support leaders and teams around voice, identity, presence and purpose-led leadership. My sessions are grounded, practical and reflective, helping people communicate with clarity and confidence rather than performance.

I am also a broadcaster, author and the founder of Heartsong Live Radio, a values-led radio station I built from the ground up and grew onto mainstream DAB. Creating platforms where voices are heard, valued and elevated is not just what I teach. It is what I live.

As the first African woman to start a radio station in Scotland, my career has been shaped by navigating leadership, visibility and identity in spaces where women are often expected to shrink. That lived experience informs how I support others.

My work sits at the intersection of purpose, mission and profit. I believe meaningful work deserves to be resourced, and women should not have to choose between impact and sustainability.

Remember I said I had my first live business pitch coming up?

Well it happened yesterday. I will be honest, my body tried to talk me out of it.

Before the event even began, something unexpected happened. I had a panic attack. I have never had one before and it felt really strange. The sweating, the dizziness, the numb hands, and that horrible sense that something is wrong even when you cannot explain it.

Thankfully Natalie Garry Dana Drzikova Nicola Thomson-Berwick helped me calm down and find my breath again. I am genuinely grateful.

When the time came later, I was able to stand up and deliver my one minute pitch.

Not because I suddenly felt fearless. But because  I remembered what I tell my clients all the time. Start before you feel ready.

Happy International Women’s Day. 💛

So I have been thinking about this year’s theme, Give to Gain.

And it made me think more deeply about what that really means.

Because my first thought was, am I giving so that I may gain, or am I just giving genuinely? And I think that is a fair question.

As women, giving is not new to us. We give our time, our care, our energy, our ideas, our strength. We give at work, at home, in friendships, in leadership, in community, and often in ways that people do not even notice.

That is why this theme made me think a little deeper.

Because giving can mean different things. Sometimes it can feel like people only value giving when there is something to show for it. A result. A reward. A return. But real giving does not always work like that.

Sometimes the gain is not what comes back to you from others. Sometimes the gain is who you become in the process.

You become stronger. Wiser. Softer in some ways, bolder in others. You grow in compassion. You grow in confidence. You grow in understanding.

For me, the work I do has never been about giving because I expect something back. It has come from a real desire to make life better for others, to create space, to support women through change, and to help people feel seen, heard, and strengthened.

And yes, there is gain in that. But not in a shallow way.

The gain is in the lives touched. The gain is in the growth that happens within us too. The gain is in knowing that what you gave came from a genuine place.

So this International Women’s Day, I think the real lesson for me is this. Give genuinely. Give wisely. But do not give so much of yourself that you disappear in the process.

To every woman who keeps showing up, keeps pouring out, keeps building, keeps caring, even when it is hard, I see you.

There are seasons when you feel stretched before you see the change. 

Sometimes we feel that pull to rush it. To fix it quickly. To get clarity now, results now, confirmation now.

But I’ve learned that God is not in a rush with us. He refines. “He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.” (Malachi 3:3)

Refining usually happens in the quiet. It happens while you are still moving forward, still obeying, still doing the work nobody claps for.

Plans can change. Your structure can grow. But your identity has to stay anchored.

Because when you know who you are, you can grow without losing yourself.

And when you trust the One who called you, you do not have to force what He is forming.

Sometimes the real work is not changing everything around you, but staying rooted in who you are.

Valentine’s Day has a way of reminding us that love matters.

Not just the big gestures. The flowers. The dinner. The photos. But the quieter things that hold a relationship together. Patience. Tenderness. The choice to stay kind, even when life feels heavy.

And if we are honest, midlife can feel heavy.

From our late thirties and forties onwards, many couples begin to notice subtle shifts. Energy changes. Sleep changes. Mood changes. Confidence can change. Desire can change. 

Sometimes it is hard to name what is happening, and even harder to explain it to the person you love most. When hormones shift, relationships can feel it too.

What breaks my heart is how often good couples begin to misread each other in this season.

Fatigue gets read as distance. Overwhelm gets read as coldness. A change in intimacy gets read as rejection.

And instead of compassion, couples start carrying quiet confusion.

At Adelphe Connect, we have supported many women through midlife transitions, and one thing has become clear. Partners need language. They need understanding. They need a safe space to learn what is changing, without blame.

A daytime experience designed mainly for couples 40+, and also open to couples approaching this season, who want to stay aligned through change.

It is not counselling. No one is put on the spot. No public sharing is required. It is a respectful, clinically informed space with practical tools couples can take home.

"When I arrived in Fife just over a year ago, and joined the Fife Climate Hub nine months ago, I could not have anticipated quite how vibrant, determined and welcoming the climate action community here would be. 

Fife is alive with action. 

Across the county, people are growing food in community gardens, repairing and sharing equipment, running tool libraries, championing active travel, monitoring local biodiversity, organising beach cleans and holding spaces for learning and skill-sharing. It is so powerful seeing climate action not as an abstract policy ambition, but as a deeply human local practice. 

My first real taste of this energy came when I (somewhat boldly!) ‘broke’ into the Hub Gathering on 20 March 2025. I walked into a room full of conversation, commitment and warmth. I remember sitting next to Peter from Greener Kirkcaldy, who leads on active travel, and thinking: I have found my people. 

What has struck me most over these past nine months, is the welcome. Networks can sometimes feel closed or hard to navigate when you’re new. But in Fife, I found the opposite: doors opened, conversations flowed, and people gave their time generously. On International Women’s Day, I want to pause and recognise some of the women whose leadership, expertise and determination make this ecosystem so strong. 

To the women like Lauren Brook, Brooke Welsh, Jo Taylor, Kathryn Miller, Sonja Potjewijd, Gillian Napier, Jo McFarlane, Eloho Efemuai, Ea O'Neill, and many many more: Thank you for your strength, ingenuity, and brilliance.

I am only sorry that I couldn’t highlight all the incredible women I have met this year. If you are reading this and wondering whether you are one of them, you absolutely are! I hope you recognise your strength and generosity, and just how much you inspire those around you. Thank you for the conversations, the challenge, the collaboration, the patience, the humour, and the relentless commitment to building something better. I feel incredibly fortunate to be stepping into another year alongside you.

Senior leadership roles do not fail on competence.
They fail when authority, judgement, and execution are stretched by visibility, scrutiny, and consequence.

I partner with senior leaders as responsibility expands and leadership is tested in ways technical skill alone can no longer carry.

Many highly capable leaders reach this stage with strong track records, yet find that expectations, exposure, and decision weight increase faster than their internal leadership system can adapt. When left unaddressed, authority strains, judgement becomes less steady, and influence fragments, creating avoidable risk for both the leader and the organisation.

My work focuses on strengthening leadership architecture at these inflection points.
I stabilise authority, sharpen judgement, and reinforce presence and execution so leaders can operate with clarity, precision, and impact as complexity grows.

I bring particular depth in supporting African diaspora senior leaders, where difference adds an additional layer of context requiring deliberate calibration so leadership intent, judgement, and action land as intended.

My perspective is shaped by 15 years across complex corporate environments, including Big 4 and FTSE 100 organisations, and over five years partnering with senior leaders operating under high scrutiny and consequence.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲
This work is most relevant when:
• Increased visibility exposes strain in authority or leadership positioning
• Decision-making carries higher organisational or reputational risk
• Influence becomes harder to sustain across broader, more complex systems
• Leadership effort starts to feel heavy, personal, or overly effortful
• A challenge, conflict, or inflection point reveals gaps that competence alone cannot close

The result is clearer judgement, stronger influence, and leadership credibility that holds as responsibility grows. Leaders also report greater steadiness and reduced internal strain as pressure increases.

Start of the month often comes with new roles commencing.

Energy is high.
Expectations are sharp.
There is determination to validate the hiring decision quickly.

You want early wins.
Visible traction.
Confidence for them and for yourself that you were the right appointment.

A new role can be an inflection point:

- Because exposure has changed.
- Judgement is still being assessed.
- Execution is not yet proven in this new environment.

Early missteps can compound into drag.

A new role requires distinct psychological recalibration.

Psychologically:
• Are you still earning credibility that has already been granted?
• Are you carrying scrutiny that is assumed rather than present?
• Are you reverting to patterns from previous organisations that never served you well?

The reality of a new role is never exactly what was imagined – good or bad.

Scope shifts.
Stakeholder dynamics surface.
Unwritten expectations emerge.

Without recalibration, strain follows.

And strain at an inflection point is misread as performance.

In reality, it is insufficient calibration to the new level of responsibility and exposure the role now carries.

Inflection points do not require more effort. They require alignment.

If something feels heavier than it should in a role you have just stepped into, do not default to working harder.

Pause.

Recalibrate early.

Architecturally.

When you leave a high-stakes meeting, what do you replay?

The strength of your reasoning
Or how you think you were received?

If your internal review centres on reception rather than reasoning, your judgement is externally anchored.

In high-scrutiny environments, that anchoring intensifies.

As responsibility expands, scrutiny compounds.

You begin adjusting before you are required to.
Softening before pressure is applied.
Smoothing before challenge emerges.

It feels strategic.
It is often protective.

But judgement that depends on reception becomes unstable under pressure.

And unstable judgement cannot reliably carry authority.

At senior levels, instability shows up subtly as:

Delayed decisions.
Over-qualification of clear positions.
Reduced enforcement weight.

Calibrating for reception is necessary. Relying on it is costly.

Over time, externally anchored judgement limits your ability to enforce decisions without friction.
