Shubhankar is a senior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, pursuing a triple major in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Data Science and Statistics. With a strong foundation in software engineering and a passion for cutting-edge research in ML and Generative Modeling, and data science, Shubhankar has demonstrated a commitment to both academic excellence and impactful projects.

Shubhankar has contributed to academic computer science labs and gained industry experience during a data science internship at Dell Technologies, where they applied technical expertise to solve complex business problems. As the President and Co-founder of the UMass Data Science Club, they have led initiatives to democratize data science education, foster inter-university collaborations, and provide hands-on project opportunities for students across diverse disciplines.

His entrepreneurial spirit is reflected in their leadership of SmG.ai, an AI startup, and their innovative product development, including a project that won 1st Prize at CalHacks, UC Berkeley’s premier hackathon. Currently, Shubhankar is working on Maple, an Empathetic AI-powered education platform that integrates state-of-the-art technologies such as HumeAI EVI 2, Hugging Face models, Llama 3.1 (Nemotron), and Fetch.ai agents.
