What started as a coffee shop conversation that pulled me into SaaS turned into a career built around one thing: creating high-quality conversations that convert into real outcomes.

Today, I work as a Senior Sales Development Specialist, owning the full outbound motion across B2C channels for Annuity Association. My focus is simple but disciplined, connecting retirees and pre-retirees with fiduciary advisors who help them make confident, informed decisions about lifetime income, asset protection, and long-term financial security.

At Annuity Association, we help clients avoid common retirement pitfalls by building plans that include:
• Predictable income guaranteed for life
• Safe growth with no market risk
• Long-term care solutions
• Thoughtful legacy planning

My role sits at the front of that experience driving relevant, trust-based conversations through phone, email, and multi-touch outreach that respects the consumer while delivering a consistent pipeline for advisors.

Before moving fully into this role, I led and scaled SDR teams and founded TopMountaineer, a full-cycle outbound firm built from the ground up. That experience sharpened every part of my outbound skill set, including ICP development, messaging, call frameworks, sequencing, objection handling, and conversion optimization across both B2B and B2C environments.

Evan Dunn, VP of Marketing at TitanX, has a 42% CRO booking rate.

Not 10%. Not 15%. 42%.

That's not a better sequence. That's not a better opener. That's a massive ICP shift unlock.

Evan stopped trying to create urgency where it didn't exist. Instead he went looking for teams that were structurally required to care about his product.

His signal? Job descriptions.

Not open roles. The actual JDs for people already in-seat. If someone was hired 9 months ago to build an outbound motion, that priority is baked into the business. It doesn't decay in 48 hours like an intent alert.

He pulled JDs for five title sets across 28,000 accounts. Ran AI agents to scan for three signals. Validated against their CRM.

Companies fitting the criteria were 15X more likely to become customers. The pipeline they were actively working? Only 6.5X.

That 9X gap is where their growth was hiding. They weren't even calling their best accounts.

Targeting the wrong cutomers created a 9X opportunity cost. 

This isn't chasing intent signals that tell you someone did something. Job descriptions tell you how a business is built.

Stop convincing people they have a problem. Find the ones who already know.

Met with George Vlasyev yesterday at my new 'co-creating' space The Lighthouse.

Been getting so much life from the space and had the opportunity to use one of their podcast studios to be interviewed on a range of AI GTM topics.

George is bullish on video in funnels and has mastered it. 

Even more importantly, he's going to be moving to NYC (putting it out there), to double down on his startup and aspirations.

I've done the SaaStr and Dreamforce thing and they're great.

But there's something that just hits differently with these marketing focused events for me.

I have a feeling I'm going to love the intimacy of Spryng.

Most reps see a signal and think buying intent. And it's absolutely killing their reply rates.

Leslie Venetz calls it what it actually is: noise you're creating for yourself.

She's been doing signal-based outreach since 2009. Her take: every signal puts your prospect in one of three buckets. And most reps treat them all the same.

Problem Unaware: they just changed jobs. They don't know what's about to hit them. Don't pitch. Deposit value. Leslie waited two weeks after a new CPO trigger, then sent a 3-page guide on how to nail the first 100-day internal roadshow. No ask. Just relevance.

Option Unaware: they're attending webinars, downloading content, figuring out what "good" even looks like. Stop pushing them to a demo. Keep educating. Become the resource they trust before the decision is made.

Vendor Aware: they're on your pricing page. Now get out of the way. Answer the question. Use video. Remove barriers. Stop forcing a 45-minute demo on someone who asked one thing.

The shift: from "what's my in?" to "what do they actually need right now?"

Companies she's seen making this shift went from 0.02% to 20-30% open and reply rates.

Not by sending more. By sending what actually earns the next email.

About a year ago I met Mike. 

I can't tell you the positive impact he had on my journey. (and he probably doesn't even realize it)

I was burning out fast and felt like I was all alone. Burning out and feeling alone is a really difficult combo.

Even running a 60k+ person community, it's possible to feel alone.

We were speaking about collaborating on a project at the time.

We'd have conversations I'd yearned to have with somebody who's been in my situation. Has been successful.  He gave me space to open up and to not feel so alone.

He became a guide for me over a relatively short period of time. 

Following, I made some tough decisions and placed some bets. Not all of them panned out. 

But that's ok, my sleepless nights became fewer and further between. 

I felt more in control - even with failed bets and through tough times.

The tough times made me a stronger operator. More seasoned.

My love for growing our community grew stronger than ever in the process.

And today, I'm exactly where I need to be.

We caught up last week and snapped this picture. I'm sure he could sense a shift in me.

All because he was a friend before business.
