Creating a new category of beverages for Gen Z.

We’re in the middle of a mental health crisis. Over half of young adults struggle with their mental health every day.

As of 2022 more than 5m Gen Z’s were diagnosed with a mental health condition in the UK alone. 

Peak is on a mission to bring mental wellness to the youth market, making it more appealing and accessible through Mood Drinks.

Mood Drinks enhance mental wellbeing by naturally increasing the body’s ‘feel good’ hormones - dopamine and serotonin.

The mood category is $180b market set to double by 2030.

Whenever I'm in it, I'm never happy with the way it affects me.

It keeps me in a state I don't like.
Acting in a way I don't respect.

One thing that separates inspiring leaders people want to follow is their ability to not just react when things around them don't go their way.

That's a hard thing to do.
But it's possible.

When you’re leading reactively, everyone can feel it.
Everyone except you.

It’s a trap that’s easy to slip into.

It’s easy to fall under the illusion that the faster we move, the better we lead.

That if we stay on top of every task, message and decision, we’ll stay in control.

But that’s the red flag.

Reactivity feels like control but it’s really just chaos disguised as progress

That illusion keeps us stuck in reaction mode
and so we continue to do what feels responsible:

...say yes to everything
...jump into every issue
...check Slack a hundred times a day
...rush decisions to keep momentum
...add more meetings to “fix” the breakdown in communication

All in the name of being a good leader

But the harder we try to keep control,
the more we lose it.

We lose the space to think,
the clarity to make good decisions
and the trust that lets the team make progress without us.

The best leaders I know do almost the exact opposite.

They:
✓ Slow down when things speed up
✓ Protect time to think
✓ Delegate outcomes, rather than tasks
✓ Say NO more than yes
✓ Build systems that work without them

But, it’s easier said than done

Leading the charge can be tough.

So if you've been feeling like things are getting away from you lately, maybe this will help.

stop reacting, start leading!
