Confession: I stopped posting here because I was rebuilding from scratch. travelling to Europe. and refocusing on PMF. 
                                                                                  
Now I'm back and apparently I missed the whole AI agent thing blowing up.

OpenClaw went to 145K GitHub stars in like 3 weeks. The founder just joined OpenAI. People are legitimately running these things as employees - not assistants, actual employees. 

I thought it was hype until I saw someone's setup: 3 agents (engineer, researcher, designer) running 24/7, managed through Telegram like they're contractors in different timezones.

What got me: these aren't chatbots. They run overnight. Make decisions. Execute without you watching. 

Someone posted "I was a CEO and stopped working. OpenClaw is making me work again" and honestly... I felt that.

 Look, I'm not blind to the issues. There's real security problems: CrowdStrike called it a "nightmare," 20% of the skills in the marketplace had malware. But also: we're clearly at one of those moments where the thing that seemed impossible 6 months ago is suddenly... normal?

So I'm trying it. Hiring AI agents as actual team members. Giving them roles, KPIs, the whole thing. Will share what actually works vs what's just people telling stories on the internet.

Real question though: if you could "hire" an AI that costs $200/month and works 24/7: what's the first role you'd give it?

Spent an embarrassing amount of time this week figuring out how to move my ChatGPT history to Claude. Sharing what actually works.
                                                                                    
The official way: ChatGPT → Settings → Data Controls → Export Data. 
You get an email with a .zip. Inside there's a memories.json.  that's the one you want.

To pull it into Claude, paste the file into a new chat and write: 

"This is my memory from another AI. Add this to your memory about me during your next synthesis."

It works.

For Gemini: Google quietly started rolling out a native import this month. 
If you don't have it yet, move2gemini.io does the job. 
There's also a Chrome extension called "Retry in Another AI" that pushes active conversations across platforms in one click.

Anyway. Useful to know.

But here's what annoyed me the whole time I was doing this:

I shouldn't have to.

I use different models for different things. 

ChatGPT sometimes, Claude for reasoning-heavy stuff, Gemini when I need Google integration. 

My context —the preferences, the history, the things these tools have slowly figured out about me — lives in three separate silos that will never talk to each other.

Every time I switch, I start from zero.

What would actually fix this is one personal memory store you actually own. A secure database that lives outside any platform. An MCP server in front of it. 

Every model connects to the same layer.

Your memory goes where you go, not where your subscription is.

Genuinely surprised nobody's built this cleanly yet. Or have they?

I know you can "solve it" with open claw or with .md files locally. But that's the techy/hacky way. Not consumer ready.

Their AI mental health chatbot - 50k beta users, $93M raised -  gone from the UK market because regulators couldn't agree: is this a wellness product or a medical device?

I get why people read this as a cautionary tale.

But I'm building in this space (longevity x AI). And I see something different.

The problem wasn't the AI. It was the positioning.

Frame your product as a therapy replacement and you're asking to be regulated like a medical device. 

Honestly? That's the right call. Unvalidated therapy replacements should face scrutiny. Even in Health AI solutions, startups start with a human in the loop, a "concierge team".

But there's a version of this that actually works.

You leave your therapist's office on Tuesday. Something hard happens Thursday. Your next appointment is 10 days away.

That gap is where people spiral. Or forget. Or quietly disengage from the work they were just starting to do.

AI that sits between sessions, that knows what you're working on, helps you hold the thread in real time, and gives your therapist actual context when you come back: that's not replacing care.

That's making care continuous.

That's the version worth building.

It's not easy. Memory, continuity, clinical safety - these are hard problems. But the direction is right.

AI has a real place in mental health (and overall health). Just not the place most people are fighting over.
