a full eight days before the actual date. 

It’s a 12 day sales window, running from November 20 through December 1, 

covering both Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday.

Seriously, are you just blindly raising bids?

You're running Amazon Ads.

As an advertiser, you can only force the Impression.

Impression → Click → Order  

This is the Amazon funnel, period.

→ Impression: What you get for a higher bid. Start your budget at $15 to $20. Continuously increase bids until you get that impression.

→ Click: This only happens when your main image or title product deserves the click.

Low Bid + High Placement Percentage.


It feels so clever. 

"I'm forcing placement! Cheap clicks!" You think you're beating the system.

Reality check: That setup is outdated.

It restricts your impressions. Period.

A stronger base bid is what earns consistent placement. 

The placement % is meant to enhance a solid bid, not rescue a weak one.

The Sponsored Product Trap 

Now, look at what happens when you add audiences to Sponsored Products (SP).

SP depends on an exact match keyword to show.

You stack an audience on top.

Think about it: 

That exact match keyword already only appears in a limited number of spots. 

You are working in tight space.

Then you add the second filter:

Shopper must land on that specific search page.

AND Shopper must match your audience criteria.

➡️ You just created a target so narrow it barely fires.

That powerful audience feature becomes a tiny slice of exposure. 

It limits reach instead of scaling it.

The Takeaway is Simple: 

Low bid + high boost quietly reduces visibility. 

Add an audience on top? Your ad is barely in the game.

If growth is the goal, you remove constraints. 

You don't pile on more.

Stop looking for “the best” agency. 

Start looking for your agency.

There’s no universal gold standard. 

No magic agency that works for everyone.

What does work? Alignment.

→ Do they get your goals?

→ Have they actually solved problems like yours — not just talked about it?

→ Can you have a real conversation, not just a sales pitch?

The algorithm reads full shopper behavior. 

A shopper lands on a product, moves through the journey, ends up on ours, and purchases. 

Amazon evaluates that flow.

We cannot say exactly how much influence it carries, but the pattern repeats.

It connects to how shoppers arrive, move, and 
make a choice.

Congress wants Amazon to more prominently identify the origin of products on the Amazon marketplace.

In a letter to Amazon and Andy Jassy last week, the House Select Committee on China asked Amazon to implement the following changes across its platform: 

1) Prominently display "Country of Origin" for every product listing, using a clear and standardized format. 

2) Require sellers to report the percentage of U.S.-made components in a product, based on existing federal definitions and guidance. 

3) Clearly indicate whether the seller is a U.S.-based company or a foreign entity, including ultimate beneficial ownership when the seller is affiliated with a PRC-based entity. 

4) Create user-friendly, filterable search tools that allow customers to view only products made in the United States or to exclude products from specific countries of origin. 

5) Apply robust verification mechanisms to ensure sellers do not misrepresent country-of-origin information, with a particular emphasis on ensuring PRC products are not misrepresented as originating in third countries.

Here’s a stat: 👇

Yesterday (i.e., Thanksgiving), there was a record $6.4 billion in online spending, a +5.3% increase YoY from 2024. 

This exceeded Adobe's initial forecast of $6.37 billion (which projected a +4.9% rise).

Oh, and mobile devices accounted for over 50% of transactions on the day.

Many companies seek off-shore or near-shore talent for labor cost savings.

EXAMPLE: "Instead of hiring a US-based Account Manager for $90k/year, we can hire a Philippines-based Account Manager for $30k/year."

Smart, right?

I used to think it was.

But, I've changed my mind, and inverted my thinking.

Here's how:

Let's say the market rate for a US-based, junior-ish Account Manager is $90k.

We don't:

-Reflexively seek to fill that role with an off-shore or near-shore candidate and bank $60k in savings; or
-Pay that rate for junior level US talent.

Instead, we ask...What talent can we attract with that $90k if we look globally?

Put differently, rather than bid down our compensation and play the labor cost arbitrage game, we play the "talent arbitrage" game.

There are incredibly experienced and senior people all over the globe that you can access with a US comp package. 

And, because of this, we have smart, seasoned professionals with 20+ years experience in key roles on our team.

I was shocked by the number.

And I think it had profound implications for SEO and CRO on Amazon going forward.

At Color More Lines, we’ve been testing different ways to optimize listings for Rufus for the past ~11 months. 

We’ve figured some things out, but this ground is shifting each day.

Amazon’s Rufus shopping assistant drives significant increase in conversion

Earlier this year, after Amazon announced its policy change around inventory reimbursement value, lots of people in the Amazon space declared that "the FBA reimbursements is dead."

Well, it's not dead. Just...different.

Overall reimbursement amounts are down across the board 🫠 

And those legacy FBA reimbursement providers aren't spending $50k to sponsor events anymore.

But, a one thing that HASN'T changed in the FBA reimbursements space is the importance of:

👉  Clean documentation, persistence, and follow-through that doesn't quit when the first Amazon rep says "no."

Candidly, I usually don't notice this kind of stuff because my FBA inventory reimbursements with TrueOps just sort of "work" and I can spend 5 minutes on it per month and know that they are aggressively getting funds back for me.

But, I just looked this morning and saw a $77k recovery(!) on my account. 

And then, out of curiosity, I went back and looked at the Amazon case log and I saw...

👏  Dogged, unrelenting persistence in pushing Amazon to reimburse the funds 

...I hope your FBA inventory reimbursements provider works this hard for you.
